Binders for paints and varnishes - Epoxy resins - General methods of test (ISO 7142:2007)

ISO 7142:2007 specifies general methods of test for epoxy resins for use in paints, varnishes and similar products. It is also applicable to those solutions made from epoxy resins that are intended for use as binders for paints and varnishes.
The test methods described are not intended for epoxy esters.

Bindemittel für Beschichtungsstoffe - Epoxidharze - Allgemeine Prüfverfahren (ISO 7142:2007)

Diese Internationale Norm legt allgemeine Prüfverfahren für Epoxidharze zur Verwendung in Beschichtungs¬stoffen und ähnlichen Produkten fest. Sie ist ebenfalls anwendbar auf solche aus Epoxidharzen hergestellte Lösungen und ähnliche Zubereitungen, die zur Verwendung als Bindemittel für Beschichtungsstoffe vorge¬sehen sind.
Die für ein individuelles Epoxidharz anzuwendenden Prüfverfahren müssen Gegenstand einer Vereinbarung zwischen den interessierten Parteien sein.
Die in dieser Norm beschriebenen Prüfverfahren gelten nicht für Epoxidharzester (siehe Anmerkung zu 3.1).

Liants pour peintures et vernis - Résines époxydiques - Méthodes générales d'essai (ISO 7142:2007)

L'ISO 7142:2007 spécifie des méthodes générales d'essai des résines époxydiques destinées à être utilisées dans les peintures, vernis et produits assimilés. Elle est également applicable aux solutions de résines époxydiques prévues pour être utilisées comme liants pour peintures et vernis.
Les méthodes d'essai décrites dans l'ISO 7142:2007 ne sont pas destinées aux esters époxydiques.

Foreword


This document (EN ISO 7142:2007) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 35
"Paints and varnishes" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 139 "Paints and
varnishes", the secretariat of which is held by DIN.

This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of
an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by August 2007, and conflicting national
standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by August 2007.

This document supersedes EN ISO 7142:2004.

According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of
the following countries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium,
Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece,
