Fireworks - Part 7: Bengal matches - Specification and test methods

This document specifies requirements for the construction, performance, primary packaging and labelling of Bengal matches and the corresponding test methods. It is applicable to fireworks which are classified as Bengal match in category 1 in EN 14035-2 and which are contained in a primary pack.
It is not applicable to Bengal matches containing pyrotechnic composition that includes any of the following substances:
-   arsenic or arsenic compounds;
-   mixtures containing a mass fraction of chlorates greater than 80 %;
-   mixtures of chlorates with metals;
-   mixtures of chlorates with red phosphorus;
-   mixtures of chlorates with potassium hexacyanoferrate(II);
-   mixtures of chlorates with sulfur;
-   mixtures of chlorates with sulfides;
-   lead or lead compounds;
-   mercury compounds;
-   white phosphorus;
-   picrates or picric acid;
-   potassium chlorate with a mass fraction of bromates greater than 0,15 %;
-   sulfur with an acidity, expressed in mass fraction of sulphuric acid, greater than 0,002 %;
-   zirconium with a particle size of less than 40 mm.
NOTE   In EN 14035-2, Bengal matches are classified as follows:
- brief description: short wooden stick partially coated (along one end) with slow-burning pyrotechnic composition, with a dot of friction-sensitive pyrotechnic composition at the tip, and designed to be hold in the hand;
- principal effects: emission of coloured flame and/or sparks.
Schemes for type testing of Bengal matches and batch testing of Bengal matches are specified in annex A and annex B respectively.
Requirements for construction, performance, labelling, sampling and testing of Bengal matches

Feuerwerkskörper - Teil 7: Bengalhölzer - Anforderungen und Prüfverfahren

Dieses Dokument legt Anforderungen an die Konstruktion, Funktion, kleinste Verpackungseinheit und Beschriftung von Bengalhölzern und die entsprechenden Prüfverfahren fest. Es gilt für Feuerwerkskörper, die als Bengalhölzer in die Kategorie 1 in der EN 14035-2 eingruppiert sind und die sich in einer Ursprungsverpackung befinden.
Es gilt nicht für Bengalhölzer, die pyrotechnischen Satz enthalten, in dem eine der nachfolgend aufgeführten Substanzen enthalten ist:
-   Arsen und Arsenverbindungen,
-   Blei und Bleiverbindungen,
-   Kaliumchlorat mit einem Massenanteil an Bromaten von mehr als 0,15 %,
-   Mischungen mit einem Massenanteil an Chloraten von mehr als 80 %,
-   Mischungen von Chloraten mit Metallen,
-   Mischungen von Chloraten mit rotem Phosphor,
-   Mischungen von Chloraten mit Kaliumhexacyanoferrat(II),
-   Mischungen von Chloraten mit Schwefel,
-   Mischungen von Chloraten mit Sulfiden,
-   Pikrate und Pikrinsäure,
-   Quecksilberverbindungen,
-   weißer Phosphor,
-   Schwefel mit einem Massenanteil an freier Säure (angegeben als H2SO4) von mehr als 0,002 %,
-   Zirkon mit einer Korngröße von weniger als 40 mm.
ANMERKUNG      In EN 14035-2 sind Bengalhölzer wie folgt klassifiziert:
-   Kurzbeschreibung: Kurzer Holzdraht, der teilweise (an einem Ende) mit einem langsam abbrennenden pyrotechnischen Satz überzogen ist, mit einem Tropfen reibempfindlichen pyrotechnischen Satz an der Spitze, und der zum Halten in der Hand vorgesehen ist;
-   Hauptwirkungen: Erzeugung farbiger Flammen und/oder Funken.
Übersichten für die Typ-Prüfung von Bengalhölzern und die Los-Prüfung von Bengalhölzern sind in Anhang A beziehungsweise Anhang B angegeben.

Artifices de divertissement - Partie 7: Allumettes Bengale - Spécifications et méthodes d'essai

Le présent document spécifie les exigences relatives à la construction, aux performances, à l'emballage primaire et à l'étiquetage des allumettes Bengale ainsi que les méthodes d'essai correspondantes. Elle s'applique aux artifices de divertissement qui sont classés comme allumettes Bengale de catégorie 1 dans l'EN 14035-2 et qui sont contenus dans un emballage primaire ou un assortiment.
Elle ne s'applique pas aux allumettes Bengale dont la composition pyrotechnique comprend l'une des substances suivantes :
-   arsenic ou composés d'arsenic ;
-   mélanges contenant une fraction en masse de chlorates supérieure à 80 % ;
-   mélanges de chlorates et de métaux ;
-   mélanges de chlorates et de phosphore rouge ;
-   mélanges de chlorates et d'hexacyanoferrate (II) de potassium ;
-   mélanges de chlorates et de soufre ;
-   mélanges de chlorates et de sulfures ;
-   plomb ou composés de plomb ;
-   composés de mercure ;
-   phosphore blanc ;
-   picrates ou acide picrique ;
-   chlorate de potassium comprenant une fraction en masse de bromates supérieure à 0,15 % ;
-   soufre ayant une acidité, exprimée en fraction en masse d'acide sulfurique, supérieure à 0,002 % ;
-   zirconium ayant une taille de particule inférieure à 40 mm.
NOTE   Dans l'EN 14035-2, les allumettes Bengale sont classées comme suit :
-   description abrégée : courte baguette en bois partiellement recouverte (à une extrémité) de composition pyrotechnique à combustion lente, comportant un point de composition pyrotechnique sensible au frottement à son extrémité, et conçue pour être tenue dans la main ;
-   effets principaux : émission de flammes et/ou d'étincelles colorées.
Les schémas d'essais de type et d'essais de lot des allumettes Bengale sont respectivement spécifiés dans l'Annexe A et l'Annexe B.
