This European Standard specifies the constituent materials, the composition and the mixing procedure to produce a reference masonry mortar with a prescribed consistence for testing mortar admixtures as defined in EN 934-3. It also describes the determination of the water reduction of the test mix compared to the control mix.

Diese Europäische Norm legt die Bestandteile, die Zusammensetzung und das Mischverfahren für die Herstellung eines Referenz Baumörtels mit Normkonsistenz für die Prüfung von Zusatzmitteln für Mörtel fest, wie sie in EN 934 3 definiert sind. Sie beschreibt auch die Bestimmung der Herabsetzung des Wasseranteils der Prüf¬mischung im Vergleich zur Kontrollmischung.

La présente norme européenne spécifie les constituants, la composition et la méthode de malaxage pour la confection d’un mortier à maçonner de référence ayant une consistance prescrite destiné à la réalisation d’essais sur les adjuvants pour mortiers conformément à l'EN 934 3. Elle décrit également la méthode de détermination de la réduction de la teneur en eau du mortier adjuvanté par rapport au mortier témoin.

This document (EN 480-13:2015) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 104 “Concrete and
related products”, the secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by December 2015, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn
at the latest by December 2015.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent

This document supersedes EN 480-13:2009+A1:2011.
This standard differs from EN 480-13:2009+A1:2011 as follows:
a) Subclause 3.1 has been updated with regard to requirements for the specific surface of cement used.
b) It has been revised editorially.
