Assistive listening devices and systems for active assisted living - Part 1: General
This part of IEC 63087 specifies requirements, and the associated methods of measurement, for the electroacoustic performance of personal listening systems. This document specifies requirements for the provision of assistive listening in audio, video and multimedia systems and equipment. The requirements are of different kinds, because of the diversity of the hardware concerned. Existing IEC standards for methods of measurement are normatively referenced if they exist. Methods of measurement and performance requirements are specified in IEC 63087-21. This document does not apply to hearing aids. Also excluded are devices entirely worn on or in the ear, which cannot be measured independently.

L'IEC 63087-1:2021 définit les exigences ainsi que les méthodes de mesurage associées pour les performances électroacoustiques des systèmes d'écoute personnels. Le présent document définit les exigences relatives à la mise à disposition d'une aide à l'audition dans les systèmes et équipements audio, vidéo et multimédias. Compte tenu de la diversité des matériels concernés, les exigences sont de différents types. Les normes IEC existantes relatives aux méthodes de mesurage sont citées en référence de manière normative, le cas échéant. Les méthodes de mesurage et les exigences de performance sont définies dans l'IEC 63087-2 . Le présent document ne s'applique pas aux appareils de correction auditive. Les dispositifs portés entièrement sur ou à l'intérieur de l'oreille, qui ne peuvent pas faire l'objet de mesures indépendantes, sont également exclus.

Ta del standarda IEC 63087 določa zahteve in povezane merilne metode za elektrostatično zmogljivost osebnih sistemov za poslušanje. Ta dokument določa zahteve za zagotavljanje pomožnega poslušanja v avdio, video in večpredstavnostnih sistemih ter opremi. Zaradi raznolikosti zadevne strojne opreme se zahteve razlikujejo. Dokument se normativno sklicuje na obstoječe standarde IEC za merilne metode (če obstajajo). Merilne metode in zahteve glede zmogljivosti so podane v standardu IEC 63087-21. Ta dokument se ne uporablja za slušne pripomočke. Izključene so tudi naprave, ki se v celoti nosijo na ali v ušesu, za katere ni mogoče izvesti neodvisnih meritev.

The text of document 100/3601/FDIS, future edition 1 of IEC 63087-1, prepared by TC 100/Technical
Area 16 “Active Assisted Living (AAL), wearable electronic devices and technologies, accessibility and
user interfaces” was submitted to the IEC-CENELEC parallel vote and approved by CENELEC as
EN IEC 63087-1:2021.
The following dates are fixed:
• latest date by which the document has to be implemented at national (dop) 2022–06–30
level by publication of an identical national standard or by endorsement
• latest date by which the national standards conflicting with the (dow) 2024–09–30
document have to be withdrawn
