19 This series is divided into four parts.
20 Part 1: General requirements which are common to most hand-held electric motor operated tools (for the
21 purpose of this document referred to simply as tools) which could come within the scope of this document;
22 Part 2, 3 or 4: Requirements for particular types of tools which either supplement or modify the requirements
23 given in Part 1 to account for the particular hazards and characteristics of these specific tools.
24 The Part 3-17 is used in conjunction with EN 62841-1:2015 and all of its amendments and corrigenda (if any).
25 Part 3-17 supplements or modifies the corresponding clauses in EN 62841-1:2015 and all of its amendments
26 and corrigenda (if any), so as to convert it into the European Standard: Particular requirements for transportable
27 table masonry saws.
28 Where a particular subclause of Part 1 is not mentioned in the Part 3-17, that subclause applies. When this
29 document states “addition”, “modification” or “replacement”, the relevant text in Part 1 is to be adapted
30 accordingly.
31 The following print types are used:
32 — requirements; in roman type;
33 — test specifications: in italic type;
34 — notes: in smaller roman type.
35 The terms defined in Clause 3 are printed in bold typeface.
