This amendment A37 modifies the European Standard EN 60061-1:1993; it was approved by CENELEC on
2006-09-01. CENELEC members are bound to comply with the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations which
stipulate the conditions for giving this amendment the status of a national standard without any alteration.

Up-to-date lists and bibliographical references concerning such national standards may be obtained on
application to the Central Secretariat or to any CENELEC member.

This amendment exists in three official versions (English, French, German). A version in any other language
made by translation under the responsibility of a CENELEC member into its own language and notified to the
Central Secretariat has the same status as the official versions.

(1) Reference plane. The reference plane is determined by 3 supporting bosses. The shape of the bosses is optional.
(2) To be checked by means of gauge 7006-…-1
(3) Reference angle.

(6) No part of the cap may protude the area defined by the dimensions Y and α.
(7) The dimensions A, A1 and R1 shall be concentric within 0,1 mm
(8) O-ring or equivalent seal. The seal shall withstand a pressure difference of 70 kPa (u.c.) when a lamp is inserted into a
cylindrical aperture of 18,8 mm. (u.c.)
(9) To be measured at dimension C. The slope (moulding angle) may not exceed 30´. These dimensions are for cap design only
and need not to be gauged
(10) Dimension A is valid within dimension M, with exception of the groove for the O-ring

(9) Doit être mesuré au niveau de la dimension C. La pente (angle de moulage) ne devrait pas excéder 30'. Ces dimensions sont
destinés uniquement à la forme du culot et ne nécessitent pas d’être calibrées.
(10) La dimension A n’est à prendre en compte que sur la dimension M, en exceptant la rainure pour la bague torique.

PURPOSE: To check the combined alignment and spacing of the contact pins and the individual pin dimensions of caps PG18.5d
on finished lamps.
TESTING: It shall be possible, without using undue force, to insert gauge A into the contacts cavity of the PG18.5d cap until
surface X of the gauge is in contact with the upper surface of the rim of the cavity.
It shall be possible, without using undue force, to insert gauge B into the contacts cavity of the PG18.5d cap. After insertion of the
gauge there shall be a clearance of at least 0,1 mm* between surface Y of the gauge and the upper surface of the rim of the
contacts cavity.
It shall be possible to insert each individual contact pin of the PG18.5d cap into hole e1 of gauge C until surface Z of the gauge is
in contact with the upper surface of the rim of the contacts cavity.
It shall not be possible for each individual contact pin of the PG18.5d cap to enter holes e2 and e3 of gauge C.

* A feeler gauge with a thickness of 0,1 mm shall be used to check that this clearance exists over the full circumference of the cap
rim.
BUT: Vérification de l’alignement et de l’espacement des contacts des broches ainsi que des dimensions de la broche individuelle

ESSAI: Il doit être possible d’insérer, sans effort inconsidéré, le calibre A dans la cavité de contact du culot PG18.5d jusqu’à ce

Il doit être possible d’insérer, sans effort inconsidéré, le calibre B dans la cavité de contact du culot PG18.5d. Après l’introduction
du calibre, il doit y avoir une distance d’au moins 0.1 mm* entre la surface Y du calibre et la surface supérieure du bord de la
cavité.
Il doit être possible d’insérer individuellement chaque broche de contact des culots PG18.5d dans l’orifice e1 du calibre C jusqu’à
ce que la surface Z du calibre soit en contact avec la surface supérieure du bord de la cavité.
Il ne doit pas être possible de faire pénétrer individuellement chaque broche de contact de culot PG18.5d dans les orifices e2 et
e3 du calibre C.
* Un calibre de contact d’épaisseur 0,1 mm doit être utilisé pour vérifier que cette distance existe sur tout le pourtour du culot.
