Cable management systems - Test method for content of halogens

IEC 63355:2022 specifies a method for the determination of the content of halogens in cable management system (CMS) products or system components made completely or partly of combustible material(s). The determination is made by combustion and subsequent analysis of the combustion product by ion chromatography. This document specifies how CMS products or system components can be declared as halogen-free.

L'IEC 63355:2022 spécifie une méthode de détermination de la teneur en halogènes dans les composants des systèmes ou les produits des systèmes de câblage (CMS, Cable Management System) fabriqués partiellement ou complètement en matériau(x) combustible(s). La détermination est réalisée par combustion et analyse ultérieure du produit de combustion par chromatographie ionique. Le présent document spécifie la façon dont les composants des systèmes ou les produits des CMS peuvent être déclarés sans halogène.

Ta dokument določa metodo za določanje vsebnosti halogenov v izdelkih ali sestavnih delih sistemov za urejanje pokablenja (CMS), ki so v celoti ali delno izdelani iz gorljivih materialov. Določanje se izvede na podlagi zgorevanja in naknadne analize produktov zgorevanja z ionsko kromatografijo. Ta dokument določa, na podlagi česa je za izdelke ali sestavne dele sistemov CMS mogoče navesti, da so brez halogenov. Ta dokument je namenjen izključno za uporabo na področju ravnanja z okoljem. Skladnost s tem dokumentom ne pomeni odsotnosti strupenosti, korozivnosti ali motnosti proizvedenega dima ali drugih lastnosti odziva na ogenj. Če je treba ovrednotiti katero koli od teh lastnosti, se lahko uporabijo primerni standardi. Meje zaznavanja pri tej preskusni metodi so običajno 0,025 g halogena na kg (0,0025 %). Ta metoda ne določa halidov, ki niso topni v vodni raztopini in so prisotni v prvotnem vzorcu ali nastanejo v fazi zgorevanja.

parallel vote and approved by CENELEC as EN IEC 63355:2022.
The following dates are fixed:
• latest date by which the document has to be implemented at national (dop) 2023-05-17
level by publication of an identical national standard or by endorsement
• latest date by which the national standards conflicting with the (dow) 2025-08-17
document have to be withdrawn

This document supersedes EN 50642:2018 and all of its amendments and corrigenda (if any).
