Resistance welding equipment - Part 1: Safety requirements for design, manufacture and installation

IEC 62135:2008 applies to equipment for resistance welding and allied processes and includes single and multiple welding stations which may be manually or automatically loaded and/or started. This standard covers stationary and portable equipment and specifies safety requirements for design, manufacture and installation.

Foreword
The text of document 26/377/FDIS, future edition 1 of IEC 62135-1, prepared by IEC TC 26, Electric
welding, was submitted to the IEC-CENELEC parallel vote and was approved by CENELEC as
EN 62135-1 on 2008-10-01.
This European standard supersedes EN 50063:1989 + corrigendum August 1990.
The following dates were fixed:
– latest date by which the EN has to be implemented
at national level by publication of an identical
national standard or by endorsement (dop) 2009-01-01
– latest date by which the national standards conflicting
with the EN have to be withdrawn (dow) 2011-10-01
Annex ZA has been added by CENELEC.
