IEC 62841-2-21:2017 applies to hand-held drain cleaners (drain cleaners are also known as pipe cleaners) the rated voltage is not more than 250 V for single-phase a.c. or d.c. tools, and 480 V for three-phase a.c. tools. The rated input is not more than 3 700 W. The limits for the applicability of this standard for battery tools are given in K.1 and L.1. This standard deals with the hazards presented by tools which are encountered by all persons in the normal use and reasonably foreseeable misuse of the tools. Hand-held electric tools, which can be mounted on a support or working stand for use as fixed tools without any alteration of the tool itself, are within the scope of this standard and such combination of a hand-held tool and a support is considered to be a transportable tool and thus covered by the relevant Part 3.
This standard does not apply to transportable drain cleaners.
This standard does not apply to machines that use a solid rod to clean drains.
This Part 2-21 is to be used in conjunction with the first edition of IEC 62841-1:2014.
The attention of National Committees is drawn to the fact that equipment manufacturers and testing organizations may need a transitional period following publication of a new, amended or revised IEC publication in which to make products in accordance with the new requirements and to equip themselves for conducting new or revised tests.
It is the recommendation of the committee that the content of this publication be adopted for implementation nationally not earlier than 36 months from the date of publication.

IEC 61643-01: 2024 contains the common requirements for all SPDs. This document is applicable to devices for surge protection against indirect and direct effects of lightning or other transient overvoltages, hereafter referred to as Surge Protective Devices (SPDs). SPDs are intended to be connected to circuits or equipment rated up to 1 000 V AC (RMS) or 1 500 V DC. Performance and safety requirements, tests and ratings are specified in this document. SPDs contain at least one nonlinear component and are intended to limit surge voltages and divert surge currents. This document, together with IEC 61643-11:— (second edition), cancels and replaces the first edition of IEC 61643-11 published in 2011. This edition constitutes a technical revision.
This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the first edition of IEC 61643-11:
a) Clarification on test application either to a complete SPD, to a "mode of protection", or to a complete "SPD assembly";
b) Additional measurement of voltage protection level on "combined modes of protection" between live conductors and PE (see new Annex F);
c) Additional duty test for T1 SPD and T2 SPD with follow current to check for increased follow current at lower impulse current amplitude (see 9.3.5.5);
d) Modified and amended short circuit current test requirements to better cover up-to-date internal SPD disconnector technologies (see 9.3.6.3);
e) Improved dielectric test requirements for the SPD’s main circuits and added dielectric test requirements for "electrically separated circuits" (see 9.3.7 and 9.3.8);
f) Additional clearance requirements for "electrically separated circuits" (see 9.4.4);
g) Additional information and details for SPDs for DC installations.

IEC 62024-2:2024 specifies the measuring methods of the rated DC limits for inductors as defined below. Standardized measuring methods for the determination of ratings enable users to accurately compare the current ratings given in various manufacturers' data books. This document is applicable to leaded and surface mount inductors with dimensions according to IEC 62025-1 and generally with rated current less than 125 A, although inductors with rated current greater than 125 A are available that fall within the dimension restrictions of this document (no larger than a 625 mm2 footprint). These inductors are typically used in DC‑to‑DC converters built on printed circuit boards (PCBs), for electronic and telecommunication equipment, and small size switching power supply units. The measuring methods are defined by the saturation and temperature rise limitations induced solely by direct current (DC).
This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
a) extension of scope by increase of range of rated current from 22 A to 125 A;
b) extension of scope by increase of footprint limitation from 12 mm × 12 mm to 625 mm2;
c) addition of upper current limitation for Iclass B, Iclass C and Iclass D board to Table 1;
d) revised application examples for Table 1;
e) addition of wire size references for current ranges between 22 A ≤ I ≤ 125 A to Table 2;
f) addition of crimp terminal references to Table 2;
g) addition of thermal camera method.
