Kinematic diagrams — Graphical symbols

The symbols system is intended for simplifying the preparation of diagrams of products in all branches of industry and is to be used in technical documentation as well as in technical and educational literature. It will facilitate the execution and understanding of such diagrams by specialists of different countries. This part contains Geneva and ratchet mechanisms as well as couplings and brakes.

La présente Norme internationale spécifie les symboles graphiques pour les éléments de schémas cinématiques, englobant les produits de toutes les branches de l'industrie. ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national
Standards institutes (ISO member bodies). The work of developing International Standards is
Garried out through ISO technical committees. Every member body interested in a subject for
which a technical committee has been set up has the right to be represented on that commit-
tee. International organizations, governmental and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO,
also take part in the work.
Draft International Standards adopted by the technical committees are circulated to the
member bodies for approval before their acceptance as International Standards by the ISO
Council.
