Rough-terrain trucks - Safety requirements and verification - Part 3: Additional requirements for variable reach trucks fitted with elevating work platform

This European Standard specifies the additional safety requirements for trucks covered by
-   EN 1459-1: Rough-terrain variable reach trucks
-   EN 1459-2: Rough-terrain rotating trucks
-   EN ISO 3691-2: Industrial variable reach trucks
when these trucks are equipped with elevating work platform.
This European Standard does not address hazards which may occur:
a)   during manufacture;
b)   when handling suspended work platforms which may swing freely;
c)   when using trucks on public roads;
d)   when operating in potentially explosive atmospheres;
e)   when operating underground.

Diese Europäische Norm legt zusätzliche Sicherheitsanforderungen an die in den folgenden Normen erfassten Stapler fest, sofern diese Stapler mit einer Hubarbeitsbühne ausgerüstet sind:
-   EN 1459 1: Geländegängige Stapler mit veränderlicher Reichweite;
-   EN 1459 2: Geländegängige drehbare Stapler;
-   EN ISO 3691 2: Motorkraftbetriebene Stapler mit veränderlicher Reichweite.
Diese Europäische Norm enthält keine Anforderungen hinsichtlich der Gefährdungen, die entstehen können:
-   während der Herstellung;
-   durch Befördern hängender Arbeitsbühnen, die frei pendeln können;
-   durch Benutzung von Staplern auf öffentlichen Straßen;
-   durch Benutzung in explosionsgefährdeten Umgebungen;
-   durch Benutzung für Arbeiten unter Tage.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie les prescriptions de sécurité complémentaires relatives aux chariots couverts par les normes suivantes :
-   EN 1459-1 : Chariots tout-terrain à portée variable
-   EN 1459-2 : Chariots tout-terrain rotatifs
-   EN ISO 3691-2 : Chariots automoteurs à portée variable
lorsque ces chariots sont équipés d’une plate-forme élévatrice de travail.
La présente Norme européenne ne traite pas des phénomènes dangereux pouvant apparaître :
a)   pendant la fabrication ;
b)   lors de la manutention de plates-formes de travail suspendues pouvant se balancer librement ;
c)   lorsque les chariots sont utilisés sur des voies publiques ;
d)   lors d’une utilisation en atmosphères explosibles ;
e)   lors de travaux souterrains.

– EN ISO 3691-2: Industrijski viličarji z ročico spremenljivega dosega
ko so ti viličarji opremljeni z dvižno delovno ploščadjo.
Ta evropski standard ne obravnava nevarnosti, ki se lahko pojavijo:
a) med proizvodnjo;
b) pri upravljanju spuščenih delovnih ploščadi, ki lahko prosto nihajo;
c) pri uporabi viličarjev na javnih cestah;
d) pri upravljanju v potencialno eksplozivnih atmosferah;
e) pri upravljanju pod zemljo.

EN 1459-3:2015 (E) 3 Foreword This document (EN 1459-3:2015) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 150 “Industrial trucks - Safety”, the secretariat of which is held by BSI. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by November 2015, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by November 2015. Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent rights. CEN [and/or CENELEC] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights. The purpose of this standard is to give requirements for the specific aspects related to the fitting and interface of a work platform to a variable-reach truck designed for the lifting of persons. This standard does not give requirements for the complete truck fitted with a work platform. This document has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the European Free Trade Association. Trucks which are equipped with work platforms as interchangeable equipment are regarded as Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) as defined in 3.1 of EN 280:2013, and listed under Annex IV, item 17 of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
