Diese Europäische Norm legt die Funktionsanforderungen und Prüfverfahren für organische Umhüllungen aus Bändern oder schrumpfenden Materialien für den Korrosionsschutz in Böden oder Wässern verlegter Stahlrohrleitungen im Zusammenwirken mit kathodischem Korrosionsschutz fest. Sie klassifiziert Umhüllungen nach steigendem Widerstand gegen mechanische Belastung und nach Betriebstemperaturen. Umhüllungen für spezielle Verarbeitungsbedingungen sind ebenfalls berücksichtigt. Festgelegt ist eine umfassende Klasseneinteilung mit Bezug auf Funktionsanforderungen.

Elle classifie les revêtements par ordre croissant de résistance mécanique et de températures de service. Elle concerne également les revêtements pour conditions d'installation spéciales. Une classification claire est établie par rapport aux exigences fonctionnelles.
