Truck mixers - Safety requirements

The Standard is to specify the safety requirements applicable to truck mixers. A truck mixer as defined by this standard is used for the transportation and mixing of concrete, mortars and mineral building materials. The safety requirements will cover the superstructure (mixer equipment) and its interface with the truck chassis but not cover the truck itself and the elements required for the basic transport function of the truck. Other machinery that can be combined with the truck mixer, such as concrete pumps, distributor masts and conveyor belts will not be covered by the document.

Fahrmischer - Sicherheitsanforderungen

1.1 Dieses Dokument legt die Sicherheitsanforderungen für Fahrmischer fest.
Dieses Dokument behandelt auch die Schnittstelle zwischen der Mischereinheit und dem Lastkraftwagen oder Anhänger (jedoch nicht den Lastkraftwagen oder Anhänger selbst).
ANMERKUNG 1 Lastkraftwagen oder Anhänger, vor allem für die Beförderung von Gütern, wie in Richtlinie 2007/46/EG, Kategorie N3 oder O4, klassifiziert.
Dieses Dokument behandelt nicht:
a) Zusatzausrüstung (Förderband, Mörtelpumpe, Betonpumpe, Betonverteilermast);
b) Anforderungen für den Betrieb in Tunneln;
c) Fahrmischer oder selbstfahrende Mischer mit Selbstladeeinrichtung;

e) Mischereinheiten mit Knicklenkung;
f) Fahrmischer-Trommelreinigungssystem;
g) Energiequelle(n).

1.2 Dieses Dokument behandelt alle signifikanten Gefährdungen, Gefährdungssituationen und Gefährdungsereignisse, die auf Fahrmischer zutreffen, wenn sie bestimmungsgemäß und unter Bedingungen, die vom Hersteller als Fehlanwendung vernünftigerweise vorhersehbar sind, verwendet werden (siehe Anhang D). Dieses Dokument legt die geeigneten technischen Maßnahmen zur Beseitigung oder Verminderung der Risiken fest, die von den signifikanten Gefährdungen während des Transports, der Bestückung, der Demontage, des Außerbetriebsetzens, der Verschrottung, des Betriebs und der Instandhaltung des Fahrmischers ausgehen.
1.3 Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für Maschinen, die vor dem Datum der Veröffentlichung dieses Dokuments durch CEN hergestellt worden sind.

1.1   Le présent document spécifie les prescriptions de sécurité pour les bétonnières portées.
Le présent document couvre également les interfaces avec le camion ou la remorque sur le côté de l’unité de malaxage (mais pas le camion ou la remorque même).
NOTE 1   Camions ou remorques de catégorie N3 ou O4 construits spécifiquement pour le transport de marchandises et classés conformément à la Directive 2007/46/CE.
Le présent document ne couvre pas:
a)   l’équipement additionnel (convoyeur à courroie, pompe à mortier, pompe à béton, flèche de coulage du béton);
b)   les prescriptions pour l’utilisation dans les tunnels;
c)   les bétonnières portées ou automotrices équipées de systèmes à chargement automatique;
d)   les malaxeurs à déchargement par l’avant;
e)   les unités de malaxage avec commande articulée;
f)   systèmes de nettoyage du tambour des bétonnières portées;

Introduction
This document is a type-C standard as stated in EN ISO 12100:2010.
This document is of relevance, in particular, for the following stakeholder groups representing the market
players with regard to machinery safety:
a) machine manufacturers (small, medium and large enterprises);
b) health and safety bodies (regulators, accident prevention organizations, market surveillance, etc.).
Others can be affected by the level of machinery safety achieved with the means of the document by the
above-mentioned stakeholder groups:
a) machine users/employers (small, medium and large enterprises);
b) machine users/employees (e.g. trade unions, organizations for people with special needs);
c) service providers, e.g. for maintenance (small, medium and large enterprises);
d) consumers (in case of machinery intended for use by consumers).
The above-mentioned stakeholder groups have been given the possibility to participate at the drafting
process of this document.
The machinery concerned and the extent to which hazards, hazardous situations or hazardous events are
covered are indicated in the scope of this document.
When requirements of this type-C standard are different from those which are stated in type-A or type-B
standards, the requirements of this type-C standard take precedence over the requirements of the other
standards for machines that have been designed and built according to the requirements of this type-

1 Scope
1.1 This document specifies the safety requirements for truck mixers.
This document also covers the interface between the mixing unit and the truck or trailer (but not the
truck or trailer itself).
NOTE 1 Truck or trailer constructed primarily for the carriage of goods as classified according to directive
2007/46/EC, category N3 or O4.
This document does not cover:
a) additional equipment (conveyor belt, mortar pump, concrete pump, concrete-placing boom);
b) requirements for operation in tunnels;
c) truck or self-propelled mixers equipped with self-loading systems;
d) front-discharge mixers;
e) mixing units with articulated steering;
f) truck mixer drum cleaning systems;
g) energy source(s).
This document does not deal with carrier vehicles, e.g. trucks, tractors, construction machinery and
mobile industrial handling equipment or other self-propelled vehicles.
This document does not include requirements which are covered in directives related to the construction
of vehicles or national road regulations.
NOTE 2 The use in public road traffic is governed by the national regulations.
1.2 This document deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations and events relevant to truck
mixers when they are used as intended and under the conditions of misuse which are reasonably
foreseeable by the manufacturer (see Annex D). This document specifies the appropriate technical
measures to eliminate or reduce risks arising from the significant hazards during transportation,
assembly, dismantling, disabling, scrapping, operation and maintenance of the truck mixer.
1.3 This document is not applicable to machines which are manufactured before the date of publication
of this document by CEN.
