This standard specifies safety requirements and their verification for design and construction of self-propelled, mounted or semi-mounted vine shoot tipping machines. These mobile machines are used for trimming vineyard and other fruit tress that grow in the same way (trellising plants) and similar applications. Their cutting tools are either:
- High speed rotative blades (which cut by impact), or
- Rotative blade and counter blade (which cut by shearing), or
- Reciprocating cutting bar (which cuts by shearing).
This standard does not apply to:
- Tipping machines for free standing fruit bushes,
- Walk-behind pedestrian controlled machines,
- Machines intended to be mounted on walk-behind pedestrian controlled machines,
- Hand-held machines.
NOTE 1 Machines intended to be mounted on walk-behind pedestrian controlled machines will be dealt with in the next revision of this standard.
This standard describes methods for the elimination or reduction of risks which need specific requirements for vine shoot tipping machines. It does not deal with general hazards, particularly general hazards related to mobility, including those specific to self-propelled machines. These aspects will be dealt with in another standard produced by CEN/TC 144 (see introduction).
In addition, it specifies the type of information on safe working practices to be provided by the manufacturer.
The list of significant hazards dealt with in this standard is given in annex A. Annex A also indicates the hazards which have not been dealt with.
NOTE 2 This standard does not deal with:
- the location and the operation of the controls;
- the adaptability and the setting up of mounted machines on tractors or other vehicles.
Environmental aspects have not been considered in this standard.
This standard applies primarily to machines which are manufactured after the date of issue of the standard.

Specifies the technological test as regards mash pumps. Includes definitions, and gives an example of test report. Annex A shows a standard motor-pump-group. A grape transfer apparatur is given in annex B. The pressure regulating device is illustrated in annex C. Annex D includes a control form for mash pump quantitative test. The control form for qualitative test given in annex E. The control form for overall evaluation is show in annex F.

This document specifies the safety requirements for the design of must and grape harvest pumps and the means for verifying these requirements and gives information for the safe use of the machines covered.
This document applies to must and grape harvest pumps, as defined in 3.1, intended for the transfer of fresh, de-stemmed grapes and pomace.
This document deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations or hazardous events relevant to grape harvest pumps, when it is used as intended and under conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer, specified in Annex B.
This document does not deal with hazardous phenomena associated with the integration of grape harvest pumps with other machinery.
This document does not give additional requirements for operations subject to special rules (e.g. explosive atmosphere, power supply from electrical networks where the voltage, frequency and tolerance differ from those of the public network).
This document is not applicable to:
— adaptations intended for other fruit harvests;
— pumps for building materials (covered by EN 12001 [1]);
— pumps on grape harvesters;
— reception conquests;
— machines upstream or downstream of the pump.
This document is not applicable to grape harvest pumps manufactured before the date of its publication.
