Eye and face protection for occupational use - Part 3: Additional requirements for mesh protectors (ISO 16321-3:2021)

This document specifies additional performance and marking requirements for mesh protectors designed to provide protection for the eyes and faces of persons against mechanical hazards such as impacts from flying particles and fragments. The other applicable requirements for mesh protectors and the frames/mountings to which they are intended to be fitted are given in ISO 16321‑1.
This document also applies to mesh protectors used in educational establishments.
This document also applies to those eye and face protectors used for occupational-type tasks that are performed similarly to an occupation, e.g. "do‑it‑yourself".
This document is not applicable to protectors for use against liquid splash (including molten metal), hot solid risks, infrared and ultraviolet radiation. For protection against these hazards suitable additional or alternative protectors according ISO 16321‑1 will be needed.
This document does not apply to mesh protectors used in sports such as fencing.

Dieses Dokument legt zusätzliche Anforderungen und die Kennzeichnung von Schutzgeräten aus Gewebe fest, die so ausgelegt sind, dass sie Augen und Gesicht von Personen vor mechanischen Gefährdungen, wie z. B. herumfliegenden Partikeln und Bruchstücken, schützen. Die anderen Anforderungen an Schutzgeräte aus Gewebe und an die Tragkörper/Halterungen, an denen sie zu befestigen sind, sind in ISO 16321-1 enthalten.
Dieses Dokument gilt auch für Schutzgeräte aus Gewebe, die in Bildungseinrichtungen angewendet werden.
Dieses Dokument gilt auch für diejenigen Augen- und Gesichtsschutzgeräte, die bei der Ausübung von Aufgaben des beruflichen Typs, z. B. Heimwerken, angewendet werden, die ähnlich einem Beruf ausgeführt werden.
Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für Schutzgeräte, die als Spritzschutz (einschließlich Schutz vor geschmolzenen Metall) oder zum Schutz vor Risiken durch heiße Festkörper, Infrarot- und ultravioletter Strahlung dienen. Für den Schutz vor diesen Gefährdungen werden geeignete zusätzliche oder alternative Schutzgeräte nach ISO 16321-1 benötigt.
Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für Schutzgeräte aus Gewebe, die bei Sportarten wie dem Fechten getragen werden.

Le présent document spécifie les exigences complémentaires applicables aux performances et au marquage des protecteurs de type grillagé destinés à assurer une protection des yeux et du visage des personnes contre les risques mécaniques, tels que les impacts de particules et fragments projetés. Les autres exigences applicables aux protecteurs de type grillagé et aux montures/supports sur lesquels ils sont destinés à être montés sont données dans l'ISO 16321‑1.
Le présent document s'applique également aux protecteurs de type grillagé utilisés dans les établissements de formation.
Le présent document s'applique également aux protecteurs des yeux et du visage utilisés pour des tâches de type professionnel, qui sont exécutées de la même manière que dans un cadre professionnel, par exemple le bricolage.
Le présent document ne s'applique pas aux protecteurs destinés à être utilisés contre les projections de liquides (y compris métaux fondus), les risques associés aux solides chauds et les rayonnements infrarouges et ultraviolets. Des protections complémentaires ou de remplacement appropriées, conformément à l'ISO 16321‑1, sont nécessaires pour assurer une protection contre de tels risques.
Le présent document ne s'applique pas aux protecteurs de type grillagé utilisés dans les sports tels que l'escrime.

Zaščita za oči in obraz za poklicno uporabo - 3. del: Dodatne zahteve za mrežne ščitnike za oči in obraz (ISO 16321-3:2021)

Ta dokument določa dodatne zahteve za mrežne ščitnike, ki so zasnovani za zaščito oči in obraza oseb pred mehanskimi nevarnostmi, kot so udarci letečih delcev in drobcev.
Druge veljavne zahteve za mrežne ščitnike in okvirje/pritrdilne elemente, na katere se namestijo ščitniki, so podane v standardu ISO 16321-1.
Ta dokument določa materiale, zasnovo, zahtevane lastnosti in označevanje za mrežne ščitnike, ki se razlikujejo od standarda ISO 16321-1 in/ali ga dopolnjujejo.
Ta dokument se ne uporablja za ščitnike, ki ščitijo pred brizganjem tekočin (vključno s staljeno kovino), nevarnostmi vroče trdne snovi, električnimi nevarnostmi ter infrardečim in ultravijoličnim sevanjem. Za zaščito pred temi nevarnostmi so potrebne ustrezne dodatne ali alternativne vrste zaščite v skladu s standardom ISO 16321-1.

This document (EN ISO 16321-3:2022) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 94
"Personal safety -- Personal protective equipment" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC
85 “Eye protective equipment” the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by October 2022, and conflicting national standards shall
be withdrawn at the latest by October 2022.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
