ISO 6506-3:2014 specifies a method for the calibration of reference blocks to be used in the indirect verification of Brinell hardness testing machines as described in ISO 6506‑2.
The procedures necessary to ensure metrological traceability of the calibration machine are also specified.

In diesem Teil von ISO 6506 ist das Verfahren für die Kalibrierung von Härtevergleichsplatten festgelegt, die bei der indirekten Überprüfung von Härteprüfmaschinen nach Brinell nach ISO 6506-2 verwendet werden.
Weiterhin sind die Verfahren festgelegt, die zur Sicherstellung der metrologischen Rückführbarkeit der Bezugsnormalmesseinrichtungen erforderlich sind.

Les procédures nécessaires pour assurer la traçabilité métrologique de la machine d'étalonnage sont également spécifiées.

This document (EN ISO 6506-3:2014) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 164 "Mechanical
testing of metals" in collaboration with Technical Committee ECISS/TC 101 “Test methods for steel (other
than chemical analysis)” the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by March 2015, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at
the latest by March 2015.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent
rights. CEN [and/or CENELEC] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN ISO 6506-3:2005.
