This standard specifies the general requirements for the manufacture, inspection and testing of steel, nickel base or cobalt base alloy remelting stock and castings. Particular requirements applicable to remelting stock and castings are defined in EN 2103-2 and EN 2103-3 respectively. Unless otherwise specified on the drawing, order or inspection schedule, the reference to EN 2103 only defines one quality level which is quality level 2 in table 4 or5 of EN 2103-3.

Diese Norm legt die allgemeinen Anforderungen an Herstellung und Prüfung von Vormaterial und Gussstücken aus Stahl, Nickel- und Kobaltlegierung fest. Die besonderen Anforderungen an Vormaterial und Gussstücke sind in EN 2103-2 bzw. in EN 2103-3 festgelegt. Wenn in der Zeichnung, Bestellung oder Prüfanweisung nichts anderes angegeben ist, bedeutet die Verweisung auf EN 2103 eine Qualitätslage, die in Tabelle 4 oder 5 der EN 2103-3 als Qualitätslage 2 festgelegt ist.

La présente norme définit les exigences générales de fabrication, de contrôle et d'essais applicables aux produits pour refusion et aux pièces moulées en acier, alliages base nickel et base cobalt. Les exigences particulières appliquables aux produits pour refusion, aux pièces types et de série sont définies respectivement dans EN 2103-2 et EN 2103-3. Sauf indication contraire du dessin, de la commande ou de la fiche d'essais, la seule référence à EN 2103 définit un niveau de qualité correspondant au niveau de qualité 2 du tableau 4 ou 5 de EN 2103-3.
