Adhesives for thermoplastic piping systems - Accelerated ageing test in storage container

This Technical Specification describes a method for an accelerated ageing test of an adhesive in its container. The result provides the manufacturer with an indication of the storage stability of the adhesive and container combination and their ability to retain adhesive properties.
The method described is intended for solvent based adhesives for thermoplastic piping systems but may be applied to other adhesive types if appropriate.
The method described in this Technical Specification does not give a correlation between the results obtained after the accelerated ageing test and after the shelf life of the adhesive at the ambient conditions defined by the manufacturer in the data sheet.
NOTE   Some of the solvents used in adhesives applied for bonding pipe joints are highly flammable and may even cause explosion when heated (tetrahydrofurane). Therefore, the users of this standard need to take special precautions when testing such adhesives according to the provisions of this standard which require prolonged heating of the container with the adhesive.

Klebstoffe für thermoplastische Rohrleitungssysteme - Prüfung von Klebstoffen bei künstlicher Alterung im Lagerbehälter

Diese Technische Spezifikation beschreibt ein Verfahren für die Prüfung eines Klebstoffes in seinem Behälter bei künstlicher Alterung. Das Ergebnis dient dem Hersteller als Hinweis auf die Lagerfähigkeit der Klebstoff-Behälter-Kombination und deren Fähigkeit zur Erhaltung der Klebeeigenschaften.
Das beschriebene Verfahren ist für lösemittelhaltige Klebstoffe für thermoplastische Kunststoffrohr-leitungssysteme vorgesehen, kann jedoch, sofern geeignet, auch auf andere Klebstoffarten angewendet werden.
Das in dieser Technischen Spezifikation beschriebene Verfahren gibt keine Wechselbeziehung zwischen den Ergebnissen nach der Prüfung bei künstlicher Alterung und nach der vom Hersteller auf dem Datenblatt angegebenen Haltbarkeitsdauer bei Umgebungsbedingungen an.
ANMERKUNG      Einige der Klebstoffe, die für die Verbindung von Rohrleitungsteilen verwendeten werden, enthalten Lösemittel, die leicht entflammbar sind und sogar Explosionen hervorrufen können, wenn sie erhitzt werden (Tetra¬hydrofurane). Anwender dieser Norm müssen deshalb spezielle Sicherheitsvorkehrungen treffen, wenn sie solche Klebstoffe entsprechend den Vorgaben dieser Norm, die eine längerfristige Erwärmung des Behälters mit dem Klebstoff verlangen, prüfen.

Lepila za plastomerne cevne sisteme - Preskus pospešenega staranja lepil

Ta tehnična specifikacija opisuje metodo preskusa pospešenega staranja lepil. Rezultat metode proizvajalcu omogoča, da preveri stabilnost shranjevanja kombinacije lepila in embalaže ter zmožnost, da lepilo ohrani lepilne lastnosti. Opisana metoda je namenjena za lepila na podlagi topil za plastomerne cevne sisteme, vendar se lahko, če je potrebno, uporablja tudi za druge vrste lepil. Metoda, ki je opisana v tej tehnični specifikaciji, ne podaja korelacije med rezultati, ki se pridobijo po preskusu pospešenega staranja in po roku uporabe lepila v okoljskih pogojih, ki jih na tehničnem listu določi proizvajalec. OPOMBA: Nekatere raztopine, ki se uporabljajo v lepilih za spajanje cevi, so vnetljive in lahko povzročijo eksplozijo, če se segrejejo (tetrahidrofuran). Zato morajo uporabniki tega standarda biti posebej pazljivi, ko taka lepila preskušajo v skladu s predpisi v tem standardu, ki zahtevajo dolgotrajno segrevanje embalaže lepila.

This Technical Specification (CEN/TS) was approved by CEN on 4 March 2013 for provisional application.

The period of validity of this CEN/TS is limited initially to three years. After two years the members of CEN will be requested to submit their
comments, particularly on the question whether the CEN/TS can be converted into a European Standard.
