Overview

EN 543:2003 - a CEN (European) standard - specifies a laboratory method for determining the apparent density of powder and granule adhesives. The method measures the mass of a known volume of adhesive powder or granules under controlled conditions to report apparent density in g/cm³. It applies to all powder and granule adhesives and supersedes EN 543:1994.

• Result expression: Apparent density reported in g/cm³. The standard notes that reproducibility and repeatability of the measurement are still unknown.
• Safety: Normal laboratory practice; users must follow applicable health and regulatory requirements.
• Test report content: Must include reference to EN 543, adhesive type and designation, test conditions, results and number of determinations, deviations/peculiarities, and test date.
