EN ISO 340:2004

Conveyor belts - Laboratory scale flammability characteristics - Requirements and test method (ISO 340:2004)

ISO 340:2004 specifies a method for assessing, on a small scale, the reaction of a conveyor belt to an ignition flame source. It is applicable to conveyor belts having a textile carcass as well as steel cord conveyor belts.

Diese Internationale Norm legt ein Prüfverfahren zur Bewertung eines Fördergurts im kleinen Maßstab fest, der einer Flamme als Zündquelle ausgesetzt ist. Sie ist sowohl bei Textil- als auch bei Stahlseilfördergurten anwendbar.

This document (EN ISO 340:2004) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 41
"Pulleys and belts (including veebelts)" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 188
"Conveyor belts", the secretariat of which is held by BSI.

This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of
an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by May 2005, and conflicting national standards
shall be withdrawn at the latest by May 2005.

This document supersedes EN 20340:1993.

According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of
the following countries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium,
