Mobile fire extinguishers
This document specifies the rules of design, type testing and inspection during manufacturing, ratings and classification of mobile fire extinguishers and test method to be used. It applies to mobile fire extinguishers with a total mass above 20 kg. This document is limited to water based and powder mobile extinguishers with a maximum allowed pressure PS of 30 bar. This document applies to mobile fire extinguishers with a nominal content of 50 kg (powder) and 45 l or 50 l (water, water based and foam) that are manoeuvred by an operator on foot only.
It does not cover fire tests for class C fires, but powder extinguishers are effective on this type of fire. Class D fires are considered to be a very specialist application and are not included in this document, but may be made the object of national specification.
NOTE This document does not specify any metallic materials which comply with the essential requirements of the Directive 97/23EEC (PED). Materials that successfully pass the essential requirements of the PED may be used.
Fahrbare Feuerlöscher
Das vorliegende Dokument legt die Vorgaben im Hinblick auf die konstruktive Gestaltung, die Typprüfung und
die Überprüfung während der Fertigung, die Leistungsdaten und die Klassifizierung von fahrbaren
Feuerlöschern sowie das anzuwendende Prüfverfahren fest. Dieses Dokument bezieht sich auf fahrbare
Feuerlöscher mit einer Gesamtmasse von mehr als 20 kg. Es gilt nur für fahrbare Feuerlöscher, die auf
Wasserbasis und mit Pulver arbeiten und für einen Höchstdruck PS von 30 bar ausgelegt sind. Weiterhin gilt
dieses Dokument nur für fahrbare Feuerlöscher, die durch eine sich zu Fuß fortbewegende Person bewegt
werden und mit einem Nenninhalt von 50 kg (Pulver) und 45 l oder 50 l (Wasser, wässrige Löschmittel und
Schaum).
Nicht erfasst werden Löschprüfungen der Brandklasse C, für die jedoch Pulver-Feuerlöscher einsetzbar sind.
Brände der Brandklasse D gelten als sehr spezielle Brände, die in diesem Dokument nicht erfasst werden; für
sie können jedoch nationale Vorschriften erstellt werden.
ANMERKUNG Dieses Dokument legt keine metallischen Werkstoffe fest, die mit den grundlegenden Anforderungen
der Richtlinie 97/23/EWG (Druckgeräte) übereinstimmen. Werkstoffe, die die grundlegenden Anforderungen der
Druckgeräte-Richtlinie erfüllen, dürfen verwendet werden.
Extincteurs d'incendie mobiles
Le présent document spécifie les règles de conception, d’essai de type et d’inspection au cours de la fabrication, les classes de feux et la classification des extincteurs d’incendie mobiles ainsi que les méthodes d’essai à utiliser. Elle s’applique aux extincteurs mobiles d’une masse totale supérieure à 20 kg. Le présent document se limite aux extincteurs mobiles à base d’eau et à poudre dont la pression maximale admissible PS est de 30 bars. Le présent document s’applique aux extincteurs mobiles ayant une contenance nominale de 50 kg (poudre) et de 45 l ou 50 l (à eau, à base d'eau et à mousse) manoeuvrés uniquement par un opérateur à pied.
Elle ne traite pas des foyers-types pour feux de classe C, mais les extincteurs à poudre sont efficaces sur ce type de feu. Les feux de classe D sont considérés comme étant une application très particulière et ne sont pas couverts par le présent document, mais peuvent avoir fait l’objet de spécifications nationales.
NOTE Le présent document ne spécifie aucun matériau métallique en conformité avec les exigences essentielles de la Directive 97/23/CE (Directive sur les équipements sous pression). Les matériaux conformes aux exigences essentielles de la Directive DESP peuvent être utilisés.
