General Information
This document specifies the requirements for tempered soda-lime float glass plies which are made from annealed glass either of the universally available type or of high light transmission type. The annealed glass is manufactured by a continuous process for general use.
The plies are tempered by either a thermal or chemical process.
The tempered glass is used mainly for cockpit glazing.

This European Standard specifies requirements for flat products for pressure equipment made of weldable fine grain steels as specified in Table 1.
NOTE 1 Fine grain steels are understood as steels with a ferritic grain size of 6 or finer when tested in accordance with EN ISO 643.
The requirements and definitions of EN 10028-1:2017 also apply.
NOTE 2 Once this European Standard is published in the EU Official Journal (OJEU) under Directive 2014/68/EU, presumption of conformity to the Essential Safety Requirements (ESRs) of Directive 2014/68/EU is limited to technical data of materials in this European Standard (Part 1 and the other relevant part of the series) and does not presume adequacy of the material to a specific item of equipment. Consequently, the assessment of the technical data stated in this material standard against the design requirements of this specific item of equipment to verify that the ESRs of Directive 2014/68/EU are satisfied, needs to be done.

ISO 2719:2016 describes three procedures, A, B and C, using the Pensky-Martens closed cup tester, for determining the flash point of combustible liquids, liquids with suspended solids, liquids that tend to form a surface film under the test conditions, biodiesel and other liquids in the temperature range of 40 °C to 370 °C. CAUTION - For certain mixtures no flash point, as defined, is observed; instead a significant enlargement of the test flame (not halo effect) and a change in colour of the test flame from blue to yellowish-orange can occur. Continued heating can result in significant burning of vapours outside the test cup, and can be a potential fire hazard. NOTE 1 Although, technically, kerosene with a flash point above 40 °C can be tested using this International Standard, it is standard practice to test kerosene according to ISO 13736.[5] Similarly, lubricating oils are normally tested according to ISO 2592[2]. Procedure A is applicable to distillate fuels (diesel, biodiesel blends, heating oil and turbine fuels), new and in-use lubricating oils, paints and varnishes, and other homogeneous liquids not included in the scope of Procedures B or C. Procedure B is applicable to residual fuel oils, cutback residua, used lubricating oils, mixtures of liquids with solids, liquids that tend to form a surface film under test conditions or are of such kinematic viscosity that they are not uniformly heated under the stirring and heating conditions of Procedure A. Procedure C is applicable to fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) as specified in specifications such as EN 14214[11] or ASTM D6751[13]. ISO 2719:2016 is not applicable to water-borne paints and varnishes. NOTE 2 Water-borne paints and varnishes can be tested using ISO 3679[3]. Liquids containing traces of highly volatile materials can be tested using ISO 1523[1] or ISO 3679.

ISO 3679:2015 specifies procedures for flash point tests, within the temperature range of -30 °C to 300 °C, for paints, including water-borne paints, varnishes, binders for paints and varnishes, adhesives, solvents, petroleum, and related products. The procedures are used to determine whether a product will or will not flash at a specified temperature (flash no-flash Procedure A) or the flash point of a sample (Procedure B). When used in conjunction with a flash detector, ISO 3679:2015 is also suitable to determine the flash point of fatty acid methyl esters (FAME).

Transportable large cylinders of water capacity above 150 l and up to 500 l may be manufactured and certified to ISO 4706 provided handling facilities are provided. This standard specifies the characteristics, performance requirements and test methods for portable fire extinguishers.
Reference to the suitability of an extinguisher for use on gaseous fires (class C fires) are at the manufacturer’s discretion, but are applied only to powder type extinguishers which have gained a class B or class A and class B rating.
Suitability of extinguishers for use on class D fires (fires involving flammable metals) is outside the scope of this standard in respect of test fires. However, extinguishers claiming class D suitability are covered in all other respects by the requirements in this standard for powder extinguishers.
It is considered hazardous for powder and carbon dioxide fire extinguishers to be used on Class F fires. For this reason powder and carbon dioxide fire extinguishers are excluded for conformance with regard to Class F in this European Standard.
NOTE The extinction of a metal fire presents a situation so specific (in terms of the metal itself, its form, the configuration of the fire etc.) that it is not possible to define a representative standard fire for the purposes of testing. The efficiency of extinguishers on class D fires needs to be established on a case by case basis.
