This document describes an index test procedure for simulating mechanical damage to geosynthetics, caused by granular material, under repeated loading. The damage is assessed visually and by the loss of tensile strength.
Other reference tests can be used to assess the damage caused by this test. The test method described is an index test procedure, using a standard granular material, and is not intended to be used for the derivation of a reduction factor for geosynthetic reinforcement.

Dieses Dokument beschreibt ein Indexprüfverfahren zur Simulierung von mechanischen Beschädigungen von Geokunststoffen, hervorgerufen durch körnige Materialien unter wiederholter Belastung. Die Beschädigung wird durch Sichtprüfung und den Verlust der Zugfestigkeit beurteilt.
Zur Beurteilung der durch diese Prüfung hervorgerufenen Beschädigungen können weitere Vergleichsprüfungen herangezogen werden. Das beschriebene Prüfverfahren ist ein Indexprüfverfahren unter Verwendung von körnigem Standardmaterial und es ist nicht dafür vorgesehen, für die Ableitung eines Reduktionsfaktors für Geokunststoff-Bewehrung herangezogen zu werden.

Le présent document décrit un mode opératoire d'essai d'index permettant de simuler l'endommagement mécanique des géosynthétiques causé par les matériaux granulaires sous charge cyclique. L'endommagement est évalué visuellement et par détermination de la perte de résistance à la traction.
D'autres essais de référence peuvent être utilisés pour évaluer l'endommagement provoqué par cet essai. La méthode d'essai décrite est un mode opératoire d'essai utilisant un matériau granulaire normalisé et n'est pas destinée à être utilisée pour déterminer un facteur de réduction pour le renforcement d'un sol par géosynthétique.

Ta standard opisuje preskusni postopek indeksne ocene za simuliranje mehanskih poškodb geosintetike, ki jih povzroča zrnasta snov pri ponavljajoči obremenitvi. Poškodba se oceni vizualno in z izgubo natezne trdnosti. Za oceno poškodbe, ki jo povzroči ta preskus, je mogoče uporabiti tudi druge referenčne preskuse. Opisana preskusna metoda je indeksni preskusni postopek, v katerem se uporablja standardna zrnasta snov. Metoda ni namenjena za izpeljavo redukcijskega faktorja za geosintetično ojačitev.

This document (EN ISO 10722:2019) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 221

"Geosynthetics" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 189 “Geosynthetics” the secretariat

of which is held by NBN.

identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by June 2020, and conflicting national standards shall be

withdrawn at the latest by June 2020.
