ISO 15549:2008 defines the general principles to be applied to non-destructive eddy current examination of products and materials in order to ensure defined and repeatable performance.
It includes guidelines for the preparation of application documents which describe the specific requirements for the application of the eddy current method to a particular type of product.

Diese Europäische Norm legt die allgemeinen Grundlagen für die zerstörungsfreie Prüfung von Produkten und
Werkstoffen mit dem Wirbelstromverfahren fest, um eine definierte und wiederholbare Durchführung sicherzustellen.
Sie enthält Richtlinien für die Erstellung von Anwendungsdokumenten, die die speziellen Anforderungen für
die Anwendung und den Gebrauch der Wirbelstromprüfung auf ein Prüfgut beschreiben.

L'ISO 15549:2008 spécifie les principes généraux applicables aux examens non destructifs de produits et de matériaux par la méthode des courants de Foucault permettant ainsi d'assurer un niveau de performance défini et reproductible.
Elle comprend des lignes directrices pour la rédaction des documents d'application, qui décrivent les exigences spécifiques de l'utilisation et de la mise en œuvre de la méthode des courants de Foucault pour un produit donné.

Neporušitveno preskušanje - Preskušanje z vrtinčnimi tokovi - Splošna načela (ISO 15549:2008)

Ta mednarodni standard opredeljuje splošna načela, ki veljajo za neporušitveno pregledovanje z vrtinčnimi tokovi proizvodov in materialov, da se zagotovi opredeljeno in ponovljivo delovanje. Vključuje smernice za pripravo dokumentov, ki obravnavajo uporabo, ki opisujejo posebne zahteve za uporabo metode z vrtičnimi tokovi pri posamezni vrsti proizvoda.

The text of ISO 15549:2008 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 135 “Non-destructive testing”
of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over as EN ISO 15549:2010 by
Technical Committee CEN/TC 138 “Non-destructive testing” the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by June 2011, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at
the latest by June 2011.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent
rights. CEN [and/or CENELEC] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN 12084:2001.
According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of the following
