Domestic and kitchen storage units and worktops - Safety requirements and test methods

This European Standard specifies safety requirements and test methods for the structure of all types of kitchen and bathroom storage units and domestic storage furniture that are fully assembled and ready for use, including kitchen and bathroom worktops and movable and non-movable parts and parts made of glass.
This European Standard applies to the storage function only. If the furniture has additional functions, it is essential that it also meets the requirements of the appropriate European safety standard for that function.
It does not apply to units covered by EN 71-1:1998/A7:2002 nor to catering equipment.
Safety depending on the structure of the building is not included, e.g. the strength of wall hanging cabinets includes only the cabinet and its parts. The wall and the wall attachments are not included.
The stability tests for storage furniture (6.6) include an allowance for sloping or uneven floors and the effect of soft carpets.

Diese Europäische Norm legt sicherheitstechnische Anforderungen und Prüfverfahren für die Konstruktion von allen Arten von Schränken und Regalen für Küchen und Bäder und für den Wohnbereich im vollständig zusammengebauten und gebrauchsfertigen Zustand, einschließlich Arbeitsplatten für Küchen und Bäder sowie bewegliche und fest angebrachte Teile und Teile aus Glas fest.
Die Norm gilt nur für die Aufbewahrungsfunktion der Möbel und nicht für Spezialmöbel mit Zusatzfunktion, wie z. B. Wickelkommoden.
Sie gilt nicht für Spielzeugkisten oder Spielzeugtruhen nach EN 71-1, Änderung A7, und auch nicht für Einrichtungen für Großküchen.
Sicherheit, die von der Gebäudekonstruktion abhängig ist, ist nicht einbezogen, so gelten z. B. die Anforderungen an die Festigkeit von an der Wand befestigten Schränken nur für den Schrank und seine Einzelteile. Die Wand selbst und die wandseitigen Befestigungsmittel sind nicht einbezogen.
Anforderungen an den Zusammenbau und an die Montageanleitung sind nicht Gegenstand dieser Norm.
Bei den Prüfungen der Standsicherheit von Schränken und Regalen (6.6) sind für schräge oder unebene Böden und die Auswirkung weicher Teppiche berücksichtigt.

Meubles d'habitation et de cuisine - Eléments de rangement et plans de travail - Exigences de sécurité et méthodes d'essai

La présente Norme européenne spécifie les exigences de sécurité et les méthodes d'essai applicables aux structures de tous types de meubles de rangement de cuisine, de salle de bain et de rangements d'habitat déjà assemblés et prêts à l'usage, y compris les plans de travail de cuisine et de salle de bain ainsi que les parties mobiles et fixes et parties incluant du verre.
Cette norme s'applique uniquement à la fonction rangement. Si le meuble a des fonctions supplémentaires, il est indispensable qu'il réponde également aux exigences de la Norme européenne de sécurité appropriée concernant les fonctions en question.
Elle ne s'applique pas aux produits couverts par l'EN 71-1:1998/A7:2002. Elle ne s'applique pas non plus aux cuisines professionnelles.
La sécurité en fonction de la structure du bâtiment n'est pas prise en compte. Par exemple, la résistance des meubles accrochés au mur ne concerne que le meuble et ses dispositifs d'accrochage. Elle ne concerne pas le mur et les fixations au mur.
Les essais de stabilité des meubles de rangement (6.6) incluent l'influence d'un sol irrégulier et les effets d'un revêtement de sol (moquette) épais.
