Railway applications - Passenger alarm subsystem - Part 1: General requirements and passenger interface for the passenger emergency brake system

This European Standard specifies the general requirements for the installation of the passenger alarm subsystem.
The passenger alarm subsystem is fitted to passenger trains used on national networks including trans-European high-speed and conventional interoperable rail systems.
The passenger alarm subsystem includes the passenger emergency brake system.
NOTE    The passenger emergency brake is sometimes shortened to emergency brake (esp. German: Notbremse) or passenger alarm (esp. English: alarm, French: alarme).
The passenger emergency brake can be operated in case of emergency brake demand by passengers or personnel in the train in order to stop the train.

Dieses Dokument enthält allgemeine Anforderungen zum Einbau von Fahrgastnotrufsystemen.
Das Fahrgastnotrufsystem wird zur Ausrüstung von Personenzügen verwendet, die auf den nationalen Hauptstrecken eingesetzt werden, einschließlich derjenigen Fahrzeuge, die auf Strecken des Hochgeschwindigkeitsverkehrs sowie des konventionellen Verkehrs eingesetzt werden.
Das Fahrgastnotrufsystem beinhaltet das Fahrgastnotbremssystem.
ANMERKUNG 1   Der Begriff Fahrgastnotbremssystem wird gelegentlich abgekürzt, (besonders im Deutschen: Notbremse) oder im Englischen (alarm) bzw. Französischen (alarme).
Zur Vermeidung von Missverständnissen sollten diese Begriffe durch eine Überarbeitung der EN 14478:2005, 5.7.1, 5.9.2.2 und 5.9.2.3 präzisiert werden.
ANMERKUNG 2   Neben der Fahrgastnotbremse gibt es noch weitere Arten der Notbremsung, insbesondere diejenigen, die durch den Fahrer oder das Signalsystem ausgelöst werden. Diese werden in dem vorliegenden Dokument nicht behandelt.
Die Fahrgastnotbremse kann im Notfall durch Fahrgäste oder das Zugpersonal betätigt werden, damit eine Notbremsung eingeleitet werden kann.

Le présent document spécifie les exigences générales relatives à l’installation du sous-système du signal d’alarme.
Sont équipés du sous-système de signal d’alarme tous les trains de voyageurs circulant sur les réseaux nationaux y compris les systèmes ferroviaires transeuropéens conventionnel et à grande vitesse.
Le sous-système du signal d’alarme comprend le dispositif de signal d’alarme voyageurs.
NOTE   L’expression « dispositif de signal d’alarme voyageurs » est parfois réduite à « frein d’urgence » (notamment en allemand : Notbremse) ou à « signal d’alarme » (notamment en anglais : alarme et en français : alarme).
En cas d’urgence, le dispositif de signal d’alarme voyageurs peut être actionné par les voyageurs ou le personnel de bord pour obtenir l’arrêt du train.
