Requirements for construction, performance, labelling, sampling and testing of hand-held sparklers.

Diese Europäische Norm legt Anforderungen an die Konstruktion, Funktion, Verpackung und Beschriftung von Wunderkerzen und die entsprechenden Prüfverfahren fest. Sie gilt für Feuerwerkskörper, die als Wunderkerzen in die Kategorien 1 und 2 in prEN 14035-2 eingruppiert sind und sich in einer Ursprungsverpackung oder Sortimentsverpackung befinden.
Sie gilt nicht für Wunderkerzen, die pyrotechnischen Satz enthalten, in dem eine der nachfolgend aufgeführten Substanzen enthalten ist:
¾ Arsen und Arsenverbindungen,
¾ Blei und Bleiverbindungen,
¾ Kaliumchlorat mit einem Massenanteil an Bromaten von mehr als 0,15 %,
¾ Mischungen mit einem Massenanteil an Chloraten von mehr als 80 %,
¾ Mischungen von Chloraten mit Metallen,
¾ Mischungen von Chloraten mit rotem Phosphor,
¾ Mischungen von Chloraten mit Kaliumhexacyanoferrat(II),
¾ Mischungen von Chloraten mit Schwefel,
¾ Mischungen von Chloraten mit Sulfiden,
¾ Pikrate und Pikrinsäure
¾ Quecksilberverbindungen
¾ Weißer Phosphor,
¾ Schwefel mit einem Masseanteil an freier Säure (als H2SO4) von mehr als 0,002 %,
¾ Zirkon mit einer Korngröße von weniger als 40 µm.
ANMERKUNG      In EN 14035-2 sind Wunderkerzen wie folgt klassifiziert.
- Kurzbeschreibung: Fester Draht, der teilweise mit langsam abbrennendem pyrotechnischen Satz überzogen ist, mit oder ohne Anzündkopf, und der zum Halten in der Hand vorgesehen ist..
- Hauptwirkungen: Erzeugung von Funken, mit oder ohne akustische Wirkung, ohne Knall.
Übersichten für die Typ-Prüfung von Wunderkerzen und die Los-Prüfung von Wunderkerzen sind in Anhang A beziehungsweise Anhang B angegeben.

Artifices de divertissement - Partie 19 : Cierges magiques tenus à la main - Spécifications et méthodes d'essai

La présente Norme européenne spécifie des exigences de fabrication, performance, emballage primaire et étiquetage des cierges magiques tenus à la main, et les méthodes d'essai correspondantes. Elle s'applique aux artifices de divertissement conditionnés en emballage primaire, classés d'après l'EN 14035-2 dans les catégories 1 et 2 des cierges magiques tenus à la main tenus à la main.
Elle ne s'applique pas aux cierges magiques tenus à la main dont la composition pyrotechnique comprend l'une des substances suivantes :
¾ arsenic ou composés d'arsenic ;
¾ mélanges contenant une fraction massique de chlorates supérieure à 80 % ;
¾ mélanges de chlorates et de métaux ;
¾ mélanges de chlorates et de phosphore rouge ;
¾ mélanges de chlorates et d'hexacyanoferrate (II) de potassium ;
¾ mélanges de chlorates et de soufre ;
¾ mélanges de chlorates et de sulfures ;
¾ plomb ou composés de plomb ;
¾ composés de mercure ;

¾ chlorate de potassium mélangé à une fraction massique en bromates supérieure à 0,15 % ;
¾ soufre dont l'acidité, exprimée en fraction massique d'acide chlorhydrique, est supérieure à 0,002 % ;
¾ zirconium d'une taille de particule inférieure à 40 µm.
NOTE   Dans l'EN 14035-2, les cierges magiques tenus à la main sont classés comme suit :
¾ description abrégée : fil de fer rigide partiellement enrobé d'une composition pyrotechnique à combustion lente, avec ou sans embout d'allumage, conçu pour être tenu à la main ;
¾ effets principaux : émission d'étincelles avec ou sans effet sonore, sans détonation.
Les schémas d'essais de type et d'essais de lot des cierges magiques tenus à la main sont respectivement spécifiés en annexes A et B.

EN 14035-19:2003 (E)51ScopeThis European Standard specifies requirements for the construction, performance, primary packaging and labellingof hand-held sparklers and the corresponding test methods. It is applicable to fireworks which are classified ashand-held sparklers in categories 1 and 2 in EN 14035-2 and which are contained in a primary pack.It is not applicable to hand-held sparklers containing pyrotechnic composition that includes any of the followingsubstances:—arsenic or arsenic compounds;—mixtures containing a mass fraction of chlorates greater than 80 %;—mixtures of chlorates with metals;—mixtures of chlorates with red phosphorus;—mixtures of chlorates with potassium hexacyanoferrate(II);—mixtures of chlorates with sulfur;—mixtures of chlorates with sulfides;—lead or lead compounds;—mercury compounds;—white phosphorus;—picrates or picric acid;—potassium chlorate with a mass fraction of bromates greater than 0,15 %;—sulfur with an acidity, expressed in mass fraction of sulphuric acid, greater than 0,002 %;—zirconium with a particle size of less than 40 mm.NOTEIn EN 14035-2, hand-held sparklers are classified as follows:—brief description: rigid wire partially coated with slow-burning pyrotechnic composition, with or without an ignition tip anddesigned to be held in the hand;—principal effects: emission of sparks, with or without aural effect, without report.Schemes for type testing of hand-held sparklers and batch testing of hand-held sparklers are specified in annex Aand annex B respectively.2Normative referencesThis European Standard incorporates by dated or undated reference, provisions from other publications. EN 14035-19:2003 (E)75.3Burning of pyrotechnic compositionWhen tested in accordance with 8.2, the pyrotechnic composition of a hand-held sparkler shall burn off completely.5.4ExplosionWhen tested in accordance with 8.2, the hand-held sparkler shall not produce an explosion.5.5Burning matterWhen tested in accordance with 8.2, the functioning of a category 1 hand-held sparkler shall not cause the testpaper to catch fire or any holes to be burnt in the test paper.When tested in accordance with 8.2, the functioning of a category 2 hand-held sparkler shall not cause the testpaper to catch fire.5.6DroopWhen tested in accordance with 8.3, the droop of the wire shall be less than 45° from the horizontal.6Primary packsThe primary pack shall completely enclose the hand-held sparkler(s) and there shall be no holes or splits in thepack.Conformity to these requirements shall be verified by visual examination.7Minimum labelling requirements7.1GeneralThe primary packs of hand-held sparklers shall be marked with the information specified in 7.2 to 7.5 and 7.7.The specified information shall be given in the language(s) of the country in which the hand-held sparklers contained inprimary packs are offered for retail sale. For each language, it shall be presented as a whole and shall not beinterrupted by other text. Additional text given in another language shall not conflict with the specified information.Conformity to the requirements specified in 7.1 to 7.5, 7.6.1 and 7.7 shall be verified by visual examination.NOTEExamples of typical labels for bangers, for which many of the marking requirements are similar to those specified forprimary packs of hand-held sparklers in this standard, are given in EN 14035-4.7.2Type name and categoryThe type name shall be marked, in upper case, as 'HAND-HELD SPARKLERS'. If a trade name is used in addition tothe type name, it shall not conflict with the principal effect of a hand-held sparkler or with the name of another type offirework.The appropriate category shall be marked, in upper case, as 'CATEGORY 2' or 'CAT 2', for example.



EN 14035-19:2003 (E)87.3Safety information7.3.1GeneralSafety information shall be emphasized by use of a heading, or bold type, or similar. If necessary, instructions inaddition to those specified in 7.3.2 to 7.3.3 may be given.7.3.2Category 1 hand-held sparklersLabelling shall include at least the following safety information in the order as given:—'Use singly over non-flammable surface';—'Light one sparkler at a time at its outermost end';—'Keep sparkler away from any part of the body and flammable materials';—'Do not inhale smoke';—'Spent sparkler remains very hot: e.g. place in a bucket of water’.7.3.3Category 2 hand-held sparklersLabelling shall include at least the following safety information in the order as given:—For outdoor use only’;—'Use singly’;—'Light one sparkler at a time at its outermost end';—'Keep sparkler away from any part of the body and flammable materials';—'Do not inhale smoke';—'Spent sparkler remains very hot: e.g. place in a bucket of water’.7.4Name, address and telephone number of manufacturer or distributor or importerLabelling shall include:—the name or trade mark, the address and the telephone number of the manufacturer; or—an abbreviation or a code allowing the identification of the manufacturer, and the name or trade mark, theaddress and the telephone number:—of his authorized distributor; or—if the manufacturer is not established in a CEN member country, of the importer in a CEN membercountry.The address shall comprise at least the town and the country.



EN 14035-19:2003 (E)97.5Reference to this standardA primary pack shall be marked with the words ‘Contents conform to EN 15035-19’.7.6 Printing7.6.1LabellingLabelling shall be clearly visible, easily legible, indelible and on a single-colour background.NOTEPrinting errors which are not misleading should not be classified as faults.7.6.2 Type sizeWhen measured in accordance with 8.4, the type sizes shall be such that the height of the character ‘X’ (in uppercase) is at least 2,8 mm for the information specified in 7.2, 7.3 and 7.7 and at least 2,1 mm for the otherinformation.7.7Additional information on the primary packsThe hand-held sparkler shall be sold only in a primary pack.
