45 1) The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is a worldwide organization for standardization comprising

126 The measuring conditions specified in this document provide for sufficient accuracy in
127 determining the noise emitted and comparing the results of measurements taken by different
128 laboratories, whilst simulating as far as possible the practical use of household refrigerators,
129 frozen-food storage cabinets and food freezers.
130 It is recommended to consider the determination of noise levels as part of a comprehensive
131 testing procedure covering many aspects of the properties and performance of household
132 refrigerators, frozen-food storage cabinets and food freezers.
133 NOTE As stated in the introduction to IEC 60704-1:2021, this test code is concerned with airborne noise only.
