Gospodinjski in podobni električni aparati - Varnost - 2-14. del: Posebne zahteve za električne kuhinjske stroje (IEC 60335-2-14:2006/A1:2008)

To točko 1. dela nadomešča naslednje besedilo.

Overview

EN 60335-2-14:2006/A1:2008 (aligned with IEC 60335-2-14:2006/A1:2008) is the CENELEC amendment that updates the European product standard for safety of kitchen machines - a Part 2 family standard within the IEC 60335 series for household and similar electrical appliances. Approved by CENELEC on 1 August 2008, this amendment supplements EN 60335-2-14:2006 with clarifications on application of Part 1, heating test procedures, stability/mechanical hazards and bibliographic references.

Key topics and requirements

  • Part 1 applicability clarified: When a Part 2 standard (here, for kitchen machines) does not add requirements for hazards already covered in Part 1, the general Part 1 requirements apply. The standard takes precedence over horizontal/generic standards covering the same hazards.
  • User groups and warnings: The amendment explicitly identifies vulnerable users - persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience - and children playing with the appliance as groups requiring consideration in instructions and design.
  • Heating and thermal tests (Clause 11 / 11.7):
    • Clarifies how to determine test periods and number of cycles when using rated power input or specified loads.
    • Provides cross-references and examples where specific load definitions in Clause 3.1.9 determine the duration of tests for particular functions (examples cited in the amendment).
    • Defines procedure when instructions specify processing quantities (e.g., yeast dough) including adjustment of cycle counts and rest periods where applicable.
  • Stability and mechanical hazards (Clause 20):
    • Requires provision of a feed pusher and stipulates that the feed screw must not be accessible to test probe B (IEC 61032) when the pusher is in position, reducing risk of contact with rotating parts.
  • Bibliography update:
    • Adds ISO 13732-1 (ergonomics - methods for assessment of human response to contact with hot surfaces) as a reference.

Applications and users

  • Manufacturers and product designers of kitchen machines (food processors, mixers, slicers, choppers) use this standard to design safe appliances and prepare technical files for CE marking.
  • Test laboratories and conformity assessment bodies apply the specified heating, mechanical and accessibility tests to verify compliance.
  • Compliance managers, safety engineers and regulatory authorities rely on the standard for product safety assessment and market surveillance.

Related standards

  • IEC 60335-1 (Part 1 - general requirements)
  • IEC 61032 (test probes for accessibility)
  • ISO 13732-1 / EN ISO 13732-1 (hot surface ergonomic assessment)
