Ta del standarda IEC 60079 določa splošne zahteve za konstrukcijo, preskušanje in označevanje električne opreme in sestavnih delov s protieksplozijsko zaščito Ex, namenjenih uporabi v eksplozivnih atmosferah. Standardni atmosferski pogoji (povezani z eksplozijskimi značilnostmi atmosfere), pod katerimi se lahko sklepa, da je mogoče električno opremo uporabljati, so: – temperatura –20 °C do +60 °C, – tlak 80 kPa (0,8 bara) do 110 kPa (1,1 bara) in – zrak z normalno vsebnostjo kisika, običajno 21 % v/v. Ta standard in drugi standardi, ki ga dopolnjujejo, določajo dodatne preskusne zahteve za opremo, ki deluje zunaj standardnega temperaturnega razpona, vendar so lahko potrebni dodatni premisleki in preskusi za opremo, ki deluje zunaj standardnega razpona atmosferskega tlaka in standardne vsebnosti kisika, zlasti ob upoštevanju vrst zaščite, ki so odvisne od gašenja plamena, kot so »ognjevarno ohišje ›d‹« (IEC 60079-1) ali omejitev energije »lastnovarne električne naprave ›i‹« (IEC 60079-11).

This amendment A11 modifies the European Standard EN 60079-0:2012; it was approved by CENELEC on
2013-10-07. CENELEC members are bound to comply with the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations which
stipulate the conditions for giving this amendment the status of a national standard without any alteration.

Up-to-date lists and bibliographical references concerning such national standards may be obtained on
application to the CEN-CENELEC Management Centre or to any CENELEC member.

This amendment exists in three official versions (English, French, German). A version in any other language
made by translation under the responsibility of a CENELEC member into its own language and notified to the
CEN-CENELEC Management Centre has the same status as the official versions.
