Domestic and similar electronic equipment interconnection requirements: AV.link - Part 1: General

Standardisation structure of the AV.link: Within the AV.link chain concept (see EN 50157-2-1) a control signal line at contact 10 of the PERITELEVISION connector is defined. Within this control signal line a bit-structure is defined introducing different modes of operation which introduces the following operation capabilities : basic capability for automatic selection of devices and automatic signal quality matching with respect to the delivered and received signals (such as e.g. R, G, B; Y/C and CVBS whereby R,G,B has the highest picture quality, Y/C is the next one and CVBS is the lowest), this part, described in EN 50157-2-1, is the base for the interconnection principle (chain concept) and is mandatory for all products implementing the parts of this standard. basic AV-system oriented commands which are meant for easy use of an AV-system with respect to the interconnection and inter-operability (EN 50157-2-2), system applications (EN 50157-2-3) future extensions

This standard specifies an extension (with the possibility to start with only two devices as a point-to-point interconnection (only a Display unit combined with a low end VTR) and than building it up) towards a chain configuration (serial interconnection of devices) with respect to the existing CENELEC standard EN 50049-1 which specifies only the characteristics of the point-to-point interconnection system for audiovisual equipment. This standard defines the interconnection characteristics of peritelevision devices which are configured in the chain principle. This standard makes use of a control signal at contact 10 which gives the possibility for automatic source de-selection and quality matching of AV-signals. This standard describes the AVC-signals in line with EN 50049-1. This standard gives system and device oriented requirements which have to be fulfilled if use is made of the logo related to this standard to ensure the customer a certain signal quality is achieved. The AV.link logo is defined in EN 50157-1. This standard gives the possibility to have a bi-directional interconnection of Y/C signals. This standard gives the possibility to have a bi-directional control of the aspect ratio of 16:9 and 4:3

This document applies to the application design and installation of electrical equipment, control circuits and safety-related systems for furnaces which are operated with solid, liquid or gaseous fuels and their ancillary equipment. It specifies requirements to meet the operating conditions of furnaces, to reduce the hazards of combustion and to protect the heated systems from damage e.g. by overheating. Such furnaces and the electrical equipment can be part by way of example of the following plant: a) water heating systems; b) steam boiler installations (steam and hot-water boilers) and heat recovery steam boilers; NOTE 1 The requirements of this document apply according to the electrical equipment of electrically heated steam boilers. NOTE 2 Seagoing vessels and offshore facilities are governed by International Maritime Law and as such are not within the scope of this document. These requirements can be used for such facilities. c) warm air heaters; d) hot-gas heaters; e) heat exchanger systems; f) combustion chambers of stationary turbines; g) as long as no other standard is applicable for combined heat and power stations, we recommend the use of the requirements of this document; This document can also be used as reference for electrical equipment requirements for thermo-processing equipment. The requirements in this document are not applicable to electrical equipment for: 1) non-electrically heated appliances and burner control systems for household and similar purposes; 2) furnaces using technologies for the direct conversion of heat into electrical energy; 3) combustion chambers of non-stationary prime movers and turbines; 4) central oil supply systems for individual heating appliances; 5) furnaces using solid fuels for heating purposes for household use with a nominal thermal output up to 1 MW; 6) furnaces which are used to heat process fluids and gasses in chemical plant.
