This standard specifies an extension (with the possibility to start with only two devices as a point-to-point interconnection (only a Display unit combined with a low end VTR) and than building it up) towards a chain configuration (serial interconnection of devices) with respect to the existing CENELEC standard EN 50049-1 which specifies only the characteristics of the point-to-point interconnection system for audiovisual equipment. This standard defines the interconnection characteristics of peritelevision devices which are configured in the chain principle. This standard makes use of a control signal at contact 10 which gives the possibility for automatic source de-selection and quality matching of AV-signals. This standard describes the AVC-signals in line with EN 50049-1. This standard gives system and device oriented requirements which have to be fulfilled if use is made of the logo related to this standard to ensure the customer a certain signal quality is achieved. The AV.link logo is defined in EN 50157-1. This standard gives the possibility to have a bi-directional interconnection of Y/C signals. IEC 60034-9:2021 specifies test methods for the determination of sound power level of rotating electrical machines and specifies maximum A-weighted sound power levels for factory acceptance testing of network-supplied, rotating electrical machines in accordance with lEC 60034-1, having methods of cooling according to lEC 60034-6 and degrees of protection according to lEC 60034-5, and having the following characteristics: - standard design, either AC or DC, without additional special electrical, mechanical, or acoustical modifications intended to reduce the sound power level - rated output from 1 kW (or kVA) up to and including 5 500 kW (or kVA) - rated speed not greater than 3 750 min–1 This fifth edition cancels and replaces the fourth edition, published in 2003 and its amendment 1, published in 2007. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition: a) In Table 2 and Table 3 cooling methods IC01, IC11, IC21 and IC31, IC71, IC81 are now covered. b) This edition adds Table 3 for 60 Hz machines, whereas Table 2, which covers only 50 Hz machines, has no change in levels. c) In Table 3, grade A is added to harmonize the highest levels seen in IEC and NEMA, whereas grade B was added to harmonize the lowest, more restrictive levels seen in IEC and NEMA. d) The clause “Determination of noise increments caused by converter supply” has been shifted to Annex B and renamed “Information on typical noise increments caused by converter supply”.

This document also applies to dual voltage motors provided that the flux saturation level is the same for both voltages. This fourth edition cancels and replaces the third edition published in 2016. Aligned with the requirements for explosion protected motors from TC31 WG27 - new clause on methods for measuring locked-rotor current and torque; - new informative annex on the general current and torque characteristics with locked rotor; - new informative annex on correction of voltage and frequency; - aligned with the requirements for explosion protected motors from TC31 WG27.

IEC 60335-2-39:2012 deals with the safety of electrically operated commercial multi-purpose cooking pans not intended for household and similar use, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V for single-phase appliances connected between one phase and neutral and 480 V for other appliances. This standard also deals with pressurized appliances and appliances with pressurized parts. These appliances are used for processing food for commercial consumption, for example in kitchens of restaurants, canteens, hospitals and in commercial enterprises such as bakeries, butcheries, etc. The electrical part of appliances making use of other forms of energy is also within the scope of this standard. As far as is practicable, this standard deals with the common hazards presented by these types of appliances. Attention is drawn to the fact that for appliances intended to be used in vehicles or on board ships or aircraft, additional requirements may be necessary. The principal changes in this edition as compared with the fifth edition of IEC 60335-2-39 are as follows (minor changes are not listed): - addition to definition of portable appliances, atmospheric multi-purpose cooking and rated pressure; - deletion of equipotential symbol 5021 of IEC 60417 covered by Part 1; - addition of instructions for multi-purpose cooking pans; - modification on leakage current permissible for portable class l appliances; - addition to abnormal test requirements; - addition to mechanical hazard test for multi-purpose cooking pans; - addition of construction test for multi-purpose cooking pans; - addition to construction requirements for lids and theirs grips; - addition to construction requirements for positioning of pressure reliefs; - addition to construction's fixed appliances which are moved forward and backward for cleaning purposes.
The attention of National Committees is drawn to the fact that equipment manufacturers and testing organizations may need a transitional period following publication of a new, amended or revised IEC publication in which to make products in accordance with the new requirements and to equip themselves for conducting new or revised tests. It is the recommendation of the committee that the content of this publication be adopted for implementation nationally not earlier than 12 months or later than 36 months from the date of publication.
