IEC 60349-4:2012 applies to converter-fed permanent magnet synchronous motors or generators (machines) forming part of the equipment of electrically propelled rail and road vehicles. The object of this part is to enable the performance of a machine to be confirmed by tests and to provide a basis for assessment of its suitability for a specified duty and for compa-rison with other machines. Particular attention is drawn to the need for collaboration between the designers of the machine and its associated converter as detailed in this standard.

La CEI 60349-4:2012 s'applique aux moteurs ou génératrices (machines) synchrones à aimants permanents alimentés par convertisseur, qui font partie intégrante de l'équipement des véhicules ferroviaires et routiers à propulsion électrique. L'objet de la présente partie est de permettre de confirmer, par des essais, les qualités de fonctionnement d'une machine et de procurer une base d'estimation de son aptitude à fournir un service spécifié et une base de comparaison avec d'autres machines. Une attention toute particulière est attirée sur la nécessité d'une collaboration entre les concepteurs de la machine et son convertisseur associé, tel que détaillé dans cette norme.

Ta del standarda IEC 60349 velja za sinhronske motorje ali generatorje (stroje) s trajnim magnetom, ki jih napaja elektronski pretvornik in ki tvorijo del opreme električno gnanih železniških ali cestnih vozil. Ta standard je izpeljan iz standarda IEC 60349-2, vendar je namenjen za sinhronske stroje s trajnim magnetom. Cilj tega dela standarda je omogočiti, da se zmogljivost stroja potrdi s preskusi, ter zagotoviti osnovo za ocenjevanje njegove primernosti za določeno funkcijo in za primerjavo z drugimi stroji. Kjer se bodo izvedla nadaljnja preskušanja v skladu s kombiniranim preskusom, bo morda bolje, da se nekateri tipski in preiskovalni preskusi izvedejo v kombinirani preskusni napravi, da se prepreči ponavljanje. Posebna pozornost je namenjena potrebi po sodelovanju med načrtovalci stroja in njegovega pridruženega pretvornika, kot je podrobno opisano v točki 5.1. OPOMBA 1 Ta del standarda velja tudi za stroje, nameščene na prikolice, ki jih vlečejo vozila z motorjem. OPOMBA 2 Osnovne zahteve tega dela standarda se lahko uporabljajo za stroje vozil za posebne namene, kot so rudniške lokomotive, vendar pa ta del ne zajema ognjevarnih ali drugih posebnih značilnosti, ki bi bile lahko potrebne. OPOMBA 3 Ta del ni namenjen uporabi s stroji v majhnih cestnih vozilih, kot so vozila za dobavo na akumulator, tovarniški tovornjaki itd. c) pomožne generatorje, ki jih standard IEC 60034 ne zajema:
generatorje, ki dovajajo moč za pomožna opravila, kot so klimatizacija, ogrevanje, razsvetljava, polnjenje akumulatorja itd.
