Ta del standarda IEC 61375 se uporablja za podatkovno komunikacijo v odprtih vlakih, tj. zajema podatkovno komunikacijo med kompozicijami navedenih odprtih vlakov in podatkovno komunikacijo v kompozicijah navedenih odprtih vlakov. Uporaba tega standarda za ožičeno podatkovno vodilo (WTB) omogoča interoperabilnost posameznih kompozicij odprtih vlakov v mednarodnem prometu. Podatkovno vodilo v kompozicijah (npr. večnamensko podatkovno vodilo vozila (MVB)) je navedeno kot priporočljiva rešitev za uporabo navedenega komunikacijskega omrežja vlaka (TCN). V vsakem primeru mora združljivost ožičenega podatkovnega vodila s predlaganim omrežjem kompozicije dokazati dobavitelj.
