Lamp controlgear - Part 2-10: Particular requirements for electronic invertors and convertors for high-frequency operation of cold start tubular discharge lamps (neon tubes)

This part of EN 61347 specifies general and safety requirements for lamp controlgear for use on d.c. supplies up to 250 V and/or a.c. supplies up to 1 000 V at 50 Hz or 60 Hz. This standard also covers lamp controlgear for lamps which are not yet standardized. Tests dealt with in this standard are type tests. Requirements for testing individual lamp controlgear during production are not included. This part 1 is to be used in conjunction with the appropriate part 2, which contains clauses to supplement or modify the corresponding clauses in part 1, to provide the relevant requirements for each type of product. This first edition of EN 61347-1, together with parts 1 to 9 of EN 61347-2, cancels and replaces EN 60920, EN 60922, EN 60924, EN 60926, EN 60928 and EN 61046, and constitute a minor revision. La présente partie de la EN 61347 spécifie les prescriptions générales et les prescriptions de sécurité pour les appareillages de lampes destinés à être utilisés sur des alimentations à courant continu jusqu'à 250 V et/ou sur des alimentations à courant alternatif jusqu'à 1000 V à 50 Hz ou 60 Hz. La présente norme traite aussi des appareillages de lampes pour les lampes qui ne sont pas encore normalisées. Les essais traités dans cette norme sont des essais de type. Les prescriptions pour les essais individuels des appareillages de lampes pendant la production ne sont pas incluses. La présente partie 1 doit être utilisée conjointement avec la partie 2 appropriée, qui comporte les articles complétant ou modifiant les articles correspondants de la partie 1, afin d'établir les règles complètes pour chaque type d'appareil. CENELEC parallel vote and was approved by CENELEC as EN 61347-2-10 on 2000-11-01.
The following dates were fixed:

FOREWORD
1) The IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) is a worldwide organization for standardization comprising
all national electrotechnical committees (IEC National Committees). The object of the IEC is to promote
international co-operation on all questions concerning standardization in the electrical and electronic fields. To
this end and in addition to other activities, the IEC publishes International Standards. Their preparation is
entrusted to technical committees; any IEC National Committee interested in the subject dealt with may
participate in this preparatory work. International, governmental and non-governmental organizations liaising
with the IEC also participate in this preparation. The IEC collaborates closely with the International
Organization for Standardization (ISO) in accordance with conditions determined by agreement between the
two organizations.
2) The formal decisions or agreements of the IEC on technical matters express, as nearly as possible, an
international consensus of opinion on the relevant subjects since each technical committee has representation
from all interested National Committees.
3) The documents produced have the form of recommendations for international use and are published in the form
of standards, technical specifications, technical reports or guides and they are accepted by the National
Committees in that sense.
4) In order to promote international unification, IEC National Committees undertake to apply IEC International
Standards transparently to the maximum extent possible in their national and regional standards. Any
divergence between the IEC Standard and the corresponding national or regional standard shall be clearly
indicated in the latter.
5) The IEC provides no marking procedure to indicate its approval and cannot be rendered responsible for any
equipment declared to be in conformity with one of its standards.
6) Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this International Standard may be the subject
of patent rights. The IEC shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
International Standard IEC 61347-2-10 has been prepared by subcommittee 34C: Auxiliaries
for lamps, of IEC technical committee 34: Lamps and related equipment.
This standard shall be used in conjunction with IEC 61347-1. It was established on the basis
of the first edition (2000) of that standard.
This part 2 supplements or modifies the corresponding clauses in IEC 61347-1, so as to
convert that publication into the IEC Standard: Particular requirements for electronic invertors
and convertors for high-frequency operation of cold start tubular discharge lamps (neon
tubes)
