BRIEF HTSTORY
The IS0 Recommendation R 299, T Slots for Machine Tools, was drawn up by Technical
Committee ISO/TC 39, Maclzine Tools, the Secretariat of which is held by the Association Fran-
çaise de Normalisation (AFNOR).
Work on this question by the Technical Committee began in 1950, taking into account the
studies which had been made by the former International Federation of the National Standard-
izing Associations (ISA), and led, in 1958, to the adoption of a Draft IS0 Recommendation.
In April 1961, this Draft IS0 Recommendation (No. 452) was circulated to all the IS0
Member Bodies for enquiry. It was approved by the following Member Bodies :

The Draft IS0 Recommendation was then submitted by correspondence to the IS0 Council,
which decided, in March 1963, to accept it as an IS0 RECOMMENDATION.

HISTORIQUE
La Recommandation ISO/R 299, Rainures à T pour muchines-outils, a été élaborée par le
Comité Technique ISO/TC 39, Muchines-outils, dont le Secrétariat est assuré par l’Association
Française de Normalisation (AFNOR).
Les travaux relatifs à cette question furent entrepris en 1950 par le Comité Technique, qui
prit en considération les études qui avaient été effectuées par l’ancienne Fédération Internationale
des Associations Nationales de Normalisation (ISA). Les travaux aboutirent en 1958 à l’adoption
d’un Projet de Recommandation ISO.
En avril 1961, ce Projet de Recommandation IS0 (NO 452) fut soumis à l’enquête de tous
les Comités Membres de IWO. I1 fut approuvé par les Comités Membres suivants:

Le Projet de Recommandation IS0 fut alors soumis par correspondance au Conseil de
I’ISO qui décida, en mars 1963, de l’accepter comme RECOMMANDATION ISO.
