BRIEF HISTORY
The IS0 Reçommendation R 13 1 O, Carbon black for use in the rubber industry - Sampling packaged
shipments, was drawn up by Technical Committee ISO/TC 45, Rubber, the Secretariat of which is held by the
British Standards institution (BSI).
Work on this question led to the adoption of Draft IS0 Recommendation No. 13 10, which was circulated
to all the IS0 Member Bodies for enquiry in September 1967. It was approved by the requisite majority of IS0
Member Bodies. However, in order to resolve the negative vote registered by the French Member Budy, a second
Draft IS0 Recommendation No, 13 10 was prepared, and was circulated to all the IS0 Member Bodies for enquiry
in June 1969. It was approved, subject to a few modifications of an editorial nature, by the following Member Bodies :

SAMPLING PACKAGED SHIPMENTS
1. SCOPE
This IS0 Recommendation describes a procedure for the sampling of carbon blacks for use in the rubber industry,
delivered in bags, cartons or other types of packages.
2. GENERAL
Packaged shipments of carbon blacks are generally delivered in packages of 25 kg (or 50 Ib). The packages

may be grouped in unit loads, stacks, or may be loaded in tiers of loose bags. In each case, a shipment
involves a given number of packages, units, tiers, or a definite total weight.

HISTORIQUE
La Recommandation ISO/R 13 1 O, Noir de carbone livré en sacs destiné à l’industrie des élastomères -
Echantillonnage, a été élaborée par le Comité Technique ISO/TC 45, Caoutchouc, dont le Secrétariat est assuré
par la British Standards Institution (BSI).
Les travaux relatifs à cette question aboutirent à l’adoption du Projet de Recommandation IS0 No 13 10

qui fut soumis, en septembre 1967, à l’enquête de tous les Comités Membres de I’ISO. I1 fut approuvé par la
majorité requise des Comités Membres. Cependant, pour répondre aux objections du Comité Membre de la France,
un deuxième Projet de Recommandation IS0 No 1310 fut élaboré et fut soumis, en juin 1969, à l’enquête de tous
les Comités Membres de I’ISO. I1 fut approuvé, sous réserve de quelques modifications d’ordre rédactionnel, par
les Comités Membres suivants :

1. OBJET
La présente Recommandation IS0 fixe une méthode d’échantillonnage du noir de carbone utilisé dans l’industrie
des élastomères, livré en sacs, en cartons ou en d’autres emballages.
2. GÉNÉRALITÉS
2.1 Le noir de carbone ensaché est généralement livré en sacs de 25 kg (ou de 50 lb). Ces sacs peuvent être
groupés en cartons, en casiers ou chargés individuellement en piles superposées. Suivant le cas, une livraison
comprend un certain nombre de sacs, de cartons, de piles ou un poids total donné.
2.2 Les échantillons doivent être prélevés, comme il a été convenu entre l’acheteur et le fournisseur, soit au lieu
