BRIEF HISTORY
The IS0 Recommendation R 207, Composition of 99.95 Unalloyed Magnesium Ingots, was
drawn up by Technical Committee ISO/TC 79, Light Metals and their Alloys, the Secretariat
of which is held by the Association Française de Normalisation (AFNOR).
Work on this matter, which was begun by the Technical Committee in 1958, was completed
in the same year with the adoption of a proposal as a Draft IS0 Recommendation.
On 20 November 1959, the Draft IS0 Recommendation (No. 325) was distributed to all
the IS0 Member Bodies and was approved by the following Member Bodies :

Burma Italy Sweden
Canada Japan Switzerland
Chile Netherlands United Kingdom
France
New Zealand U.S.A.
Germany
Poland U.S.S.R.
Hungary Portugal
No Member Body opposed the approval of the Draft.
The Draft IS0 Recommendation was then submitted by correspondence to the IS0 Council,

HISTORIQUE
La Recommandation ISOjR 207, Composition des lingots en magnésium non allié 99,95, a
été élaborée par le Comité Technique ISOjTC 79, Métaux légers et leurs alliages, dont le Secré-
tariat est assuré par l’Association Française de Normalisation (AFNOR).
Les Travaux que le Comité Technique entreprit à ce sujet, en 1958, prirent fin la même année
par l’adoption d’une proposition en tant que Projet de Recommandation ISO.
En date du 20 novembre 1959, ce Projet de Recommandation IS0 (NO 325) fut distribué
à tous les Comités Membres de 1’ISO et approuvé par les Comités Membres suivants :
