BRIEF HISTORY
The IS0 Recommendation R 723, Rock drilling-Forged collared shanks and chuck
bushings for hollow hexagonal drill steels, was drawn up by Technical Committee ISO/TC 82,
Mining, the Secretariat of which is held by the Deutscher Normenausschuss (DNA).
Work on this question by the Technical Committee began in 1960 and led, in 1964, to
the adoption of a Draft IS0 Recommendation.
In April 1965, this Draft IS0 Recommendation (No. 802) was circulated to all the
IS0 Member Bodies for enquiry. It was approved, subject to a few modifications of an
editorial nature, by the following Member Bodies :

Council, which decided, in May 1968, to accept it as an IS0 RECOMMENDATION.

HISTORIQUE
La Recommandation ISO/R 723, Forage des roches - Emrnanchements ù collerette
forgée et douilles porte-outils pour hexagones creux en acier, a été élaborée par le Comité
Technique ISO/TC 82, Exploitation minière, dont le Secrétariat est assuré par le Deutscher
Normenausschuss (DNA).
Les travaux relatifs a cette question furent entrepris par le Comité Technique en 1960
et aboutirent, en 1964, à l’adoption d’un Projet de Recommandation ISO.
En avril 1965, ce Projet de Recommandation IS0 (NO 802) fut soumis à l’enquête de
tous les Comités Membres de 1’ISO. Il fut approuvé, sous réserve de quelques modifications
d’ordre rédactionnel, par les Comités Membres suivants :

1’ISO qui décida, en mai 1968, de l’accepter comme RECOMMANDATION ISO.
