Der zum Emaillieren vorgesehene Stahl muss den Anforderungen nach EN 10209 entsprechen.
Die erforderliche Dicke des Stahls ist zwischen den Vertragspartnern zu vereinbaren.
Der Stahl darf keine Fehler aufweisen, die Einfluss auf das Erscheinungsbild der Oberfläche nehmen können.

EN 14864:2005+A1:2007 (E) 3 Foreword This document (EN 14864:2005+A1:2007) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 262 “Metallic and other inorganic coatings”, the secretariat of which is held by BSI. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by March 2008, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by March 2008. This document supersedes EN 14864:2005. This document includes Amendment 1, approved by CEN on 2007-08-13. The start and finish of text introduced or altered by amendment is indicated in the text by tags !".
