Inset appliances including open fires fired by solid fuels - Requirements and test methods

This European Standard specifies requirements relating to the design, manufacture, construction, safety and performance (efficiency and emission), instructions and marking together with associated test methods for type testing, residential open fires and inset appliances fired by solid fuel. This standard is applicable to hand fired appliances which are listed under categories 1b, 1c, 2b, 2c, 3a, 3b and 3c of Table 1. The surround of the appliances is integrated with the building with the exception of free-standing appliances and inset appliances which are installed into a fireplace recess or enclosure. This standard is not applicable to appliances with fan assisted combustion air. These appliances provide heat into the space where they are installed.  Additionally, where fitted with a boiler, they also provide domestic hot water and/or central heating.  They may burn either solid mineral fuels, peat briquettes, natural or manufactured wood logs or be multi-fuel in accordance with the appliance manufacturer's instructions.
Open fireplace components such as a bottomgrate with associated firefront which the manufacturer supplies for installation into an existing heat resistant, insulated firebox are not covered by this standard.

Kamineinsätze einschließlich offene Kamine für feste Brennstoffe - Anforderungen und Prüfung

Diese Europäische Norm legt fest: Anforderungen an Auslegung, Herstellung, Ausführung, Sicherheit und Leistungsvermögen (Wirkungsgrad und Emission), Anleitung und Kennzeichnung zusammen mit zugehörigen Prüfverfahren und Prüfbrennstoffen für die Typprüfung von Kamineinsätzen und offenen Kaminen für feste Brennstoffe.
Diese Norm gilt für handbeschickte Feuerstätten, die in Tabelle 1, Kategorie 1b, 1c, 2b, 2c, 3a, 3b und 3c aufgeführt sind. Die Verkleidung dieser Feuerstätten ist mit dem Gebäude verbunden mit Ausnahme von freistehenden Feuerstätten und Einsätzen, die in eine Feuerstätten-Nische oder Verkleidung eingestellt werden.
Diese Norm gilt nicht für Feuerstätten mit Verbrennungsluftgebläse. Diese Feuerstätten beheizen den Aufstellungsraum. Sofern sie mit wasserführenden Bauteilen ausgestattet sind, beheizen sie auch Heizwasser und/oder Brauchwasser. Diese Feuerstätten können entsprechend der Bedienungsanleitung des Herstellers entweder feste mineralische Brennstoffe, Torfbriketts, Holzscheite, Holzbriketts oder mehrere dieser Brennstoffe verfeuern.
Bauteile für offene Feuerstätten wie ein Bodenrost mit zugehöriger Frontplatte, die vom Hersteller zum Einbau in einen vorhandenen brandsicheren und wärmegedämmten Raum ) geliefert werden, werden von dieser Norm nicht erfasst.

La présente Norme européenne définit les exigences relatives a la conception, a la fabrication, a l'assemblage, a la sécurité et aux performances (rendement et émissions), aux instructions et au marquage, ainsi que les méthodes d'essai correspondantes pour les essais de type de foyers ouverts domestiques et inserts a combustible solide.
La présente norme s'applique aux appareils alimentés manuellement, figurant dans les catégories 1b), 1c), 2b), 2c), 3a), 3b) et 3c) du Tableau 1. L'habillage des appareils est intégré dans le bâtiment, a l'exception des appareils indépendants et des appareils encastrés qui sont installés dans une niche ou une enceinte. Cette norme ne s'applique pas aux appareils a admission d'air de combustion assisté par ventilateur. Ces appareils fournissent de la chaleur dans l'espace ou ils sont installés. En outre, lorsqu'ils sont équipés d'un bouilleur, ils fournissent également de l'eau chaude a usage domestique et/ou du chauffage central. Ils peuvent utiliser des combustibles minéraux solides, des briquettes de tourbe, des buches de bois naturelles ou manufacturées, ou plusieurs combustibles conformément aux instructions du fabricant.
Les éléments de cheminée ouverte, tels que grille et devanture de foyer associée que le fabricant fournit pour une installation dans un foyer existant, isolant et réfractaire, ne sont pas concernés par la présente norme.

Ta evropski standard določa zahteve za načrtovanje, proizvodnjo, konstrukcijo, varnost in delovanje
(izkoristek in emisije) ter navodila in označevanje skupaj s preskusnimi metodami za preskušanje tipa kaminskih vložkov, vključno z odprtimi kamini na trdna goriva. Ta standard obravnava tudi kuriščne vložke za lončene ali ometane peči, ki imajo nazivno toplotno moč do 15 kW. Ta standard se ne uporablja za naprave s prisilnim vlekom. Navedene naprave ogrevajo prostor, v katerem so nameščene. Dodatno pa, kadar so opremljene z vodno komoro, omogočajo pripravo in uporabo sanitarne tople vode in/ali centralno ogrevanje. The symbol for the type of weld used is sufficient.- the permissible maximum operating water temperature in °C;- the permissible maximimum operating pressure in bar;- the type test pressure in bar;- the water heating output in kW.4.2General construction requirementsThe shape and dimensions of the components and equipment and the method of design andmanufacture and, if assembled on site, the method of assembly and installation shall ensure that,when operated in accordance with the provisions of the appropriate test and exposed to theassociated mechanical, chemical and thermal stresses, the appliance shall operate reliably and safelysuch that during normal operation no combustion gases posing a hazard can escape into the room inwhich the appliance is installed nor can embers fall out.Component parts such as covers, operating controls, safety devices and electrical accessories shallbe arranged in such a way that their surface temperatures, under the test conditions described inA.4.7, do not exceed those specified either by the manufacturer or in the relevant component partstandard.No part of the appliance shall comprise of or contain asbestos. Hard solder, containing cadmium inits formulation, shall not be used.Where thermal insulation is used, it shall be made of non-combustible material and shall not be aknown hazard to health in its applied position.NOTE

Thespigot or socket shall provide a good fit for the size of pipe recommended by the manufacturer.Where the flue gas connector fits over an outlet spigot the overlap shall be a length of at least

Where the flue gas connector fits into a socket, the insertion depth shall be a minimum of25 mm.NOTE

It is important that the effect of adjusting its controlling positions can be perceived by the user.4.5FluewaysIt shall be possible to clean the flueways of the appliance completely using commercially availabletools or brushes, unless special cleaning tools or brushes are provided by the manufacturer.
The sizeof the flueway in its minimum dimension shall be not less than 30 mm except that where fuels otherthan bituminous coal are burned it shall be permissible to reduce it to not less than 15 mm providedan access door(s) is provided for cleaning the flueway.4.6Cleaning toolsThe appliance manufacturer shall make available purpose designed brushes and scrapers whereordinary household brushes cannot be used effectively for cleaning internal flueways.4.7Firedoors and charging doorsWhere the appliance is fitted with a firedoor or charging door they shall be large enough so that theappliance can be filled with the commercial fuels recommended by the manufacturer. When openany firedoors shall not obstruct the firebox opening.
The door shall be designed to preventaccidental opening and to facilitate positive closure.4.8Combustion air supply4.8.1Primary air inlet controlThe appliance shall be fitted with either a thermostatically controlled primary air inlet control or amanual primary air inlet control.
The adjusting control shall be clearly visible or permanentlymarked so that its operation is readily understandable. Where an appliance is designed for multifueluse a means shall be provided for the user to identify the correct set position of the primary air inletcontrol for each fuel type. Means of identification of the thermostat shall also be provided by theappliance manufacturer.NOTE
The design should be such that during operation of the appliance, neither ash nor unburnt fuel canprevent the movement or the closure of the air inlet control.

Seite 12EN 13229:2001 der Typprüfdruck in bar, die Wasserwärmeleistung in kW.4.2 Allgemeine AusführungForm und Abmessungen der Bauteile und der Ausrüstung, das Verfahren der Auslegung undHerstellung und, falls vor Ort zusammengebaut, der Zusammenbau und die Installation müssensicherstellen, dass die Feuerstätte bei Betrieb gemäß der entsprechenden Prüfung und unter denjeweiligen mechanischen, chemischen und thermischen Belastungen zuverlässig und sicher arbeitet,sodass bei üblicher Betriebsweise kein Verbrennungsgas in Gefahr drohender Weise in denAufstellungsraum gelangt und keine Glut herausfällt.Bauteile, wie Verkleidungen, Bedienelemente, Sicherheitsvorrichtungen und elektrische Zubehörteilesind so anzuordnen, dass ihre Oberflächentemperaturen unter den in A.4.7 beschriebenenPrüfbedingungen weder die vom Hersteller noch die in der betreffenden Bauteilnorm festgelegtenWerte überschreiten.Kein Teil der Feuerstätte darf aus Asbest bestehen oder Asbest enthalten. Hartlötmittel, die Cadmiumenthalten, dürfen nicht verwendet werden.Wenn Dämmstoff verwendet wird, muss er aus nicht brennbaren Bestandteilen bestehen und darf ander Verwendungsstelle kein bekanntes Gesundheitsrisiko darstellen.ANMERKUNGDer Dämmstoff sollte den normalen thermischen und mechanischen Beanspruchungenstandhalten.Bauteile, die regelmäßig ersetzt oder wieder eingebaut werden müssen, sind entweder so auszulegenoder so zu kennzeichnen, dass sie richtig eingebaut werden können.Bauteile, die als Abdichtung dienen, müssen z. B. durch Schrauben, Manschetten oder Schweißungso gesichert werden, dass Undichtigkeiten für Luft, Wasser oder Verbrennungsprodukte verhindertwerden.Wo eine Abdichtung mit feuerfestem Zement hergestellt ist, ist dieser durch angrenzendeMetallflächen abzustützen.Ist die Feuerstätte mit wasserführenden Bauteilen ausgestattet, muss sie hinsichtlich der Werkstoffefür die Ausführung und der beabsichtigten Verwendung den Anforderungen nach 4.13 genügen.Falls vorhanden, müssen die wasserführenden Bauteile bei dem vom Hersteller angegebenenzulässigen maximalen Betriebsdruck sicher betrieben werden können und den Anforderungen der in5.8 beschriebenen Typdruckprüfung genügen.4.3 AbgasstutzenDer Abgasstutzen oder die -muffe ist für den Anschluss so auszulegen, dass eine gasdichteVerbindung zwischen Verbindungsstück und Feuerstätte sichergestellt ist. Der Abgasstutzen musseine sichere Verbindung mit dem vom Hersteller vorgeschlagenen Verbindungsstück ermöglichen.Wenn das Verbindungsstück den Abgasstutzen (oder den Verbindungsflansch) außen umschließt,muss die überschiebbare Länge mindestens 25 mm bis zu einem Durchmesser von 160 mm betragenund mindestens 40 mm für Durchmesser von mehr als 160 mm. Bei Verbindungsstücken, die in dieMuffe oder den Verbindungsflansch eingesteckt werden, muss die Einstecktiefe mindestens 25 mmbetragen.ANMERKUNGEs wird empfohlen, Möglichkeiten für die Dichtung innen liegender Verbindungen mitfeuerfestem Material und/oder Dichtschnur vorzusehen.4.4 Einstelleinrichtungen für die VerbrennungEinstelleinrichtungen müssen gut zugänglich sein und dauerhafte Markierungen haben.SIST EN 13229:2003



Seite 13EN 13229:2001ANMERKUNGEs ist wichtig, dass ihre Wirkung und ihre Einstellungen vom Betreiber erkennbar sind.4.5 HeizgaszügeDie Heizgaszüge müssen mit gebräuchlichem Werkzeug oder Bürsten gereinigt werden können,andernfalls muss der Hersteller der Feuerstätte spezielle Werkzeuge oder Bürsten mitliefern.Die Mindestweite der Heizgaszüge hat 30 mm zu betragen.
Diese muss mindestens 15 mm beisolchen Feuerstätten betragen, in denen keine bituminösen Kohlen verfeuert werden dürfen und dieentsprechende Reinigungsöffnungen haben.4.6 ReinigungswerkzeugeDer Hersteller der Feuerstätte muss Bürsten oder geeignetes Werkzeug mitliefern, wennhandelsübliche Bürsten für die Reinigung nicht wirkungsvoll verwendet werden können.4.7 Feuertüren und FülltürenWenn die Feuerstätte mit einer Feuer-/Fülltür ausgestattet ist, muss die Öffnung groß genug sein,dass die Feuerstätte mit den vom Hersteller empfohlenen handelsüblichen Brennstoffen gefülltwerden kann. Feuertüren und Fülltüren sind so auszulegen, dass ein versehentliches Öffnenvermieden und ein festes Schließen erleichtert wird.4.8 Zufuhr der Verbrennungsluft4.8.1 Primärluft-EinstelleinrichtungDie Feuerstätte muss mit einer thermostatischen oder manuellen Primärluftregulierung ausgestattetsein. Die Einstellung des Bedienungsgriffes muss gut sichtbar oder dauerhaft so gekennzeichnet sein,dass ihre Wirksamkeit verständlich ist. Bei Feuerstätten, die für den Einsatz mehrerer Brennstoffeausgelegt sind, muss die Zuordnung der Verbrennungsluft-Einstellung für den Betreiber für jedenBrennstoff möglich sein. Der Hersteller der Feuerstätte muss Angaben zur Thermostat-Einstellungmachen.ANMERKUNGDie Verbrennungsluft-Eintrittsöffnung sollte so ausgelegt sein, dass während des Betriebs derFeuerstätte weder Verbrennungsrückstände noch unverbrannter Brennstoff die Bewegung oder das Schließender Luftregulierung verhindern.4.8.2 Sekundärluft-EinstelleinrichtungWenn Sekundärluft-Einstellung vorgesehen ist, ist die Lage des Lufteinlasses so vorzusehen, dassder Eintritt der Luft bei Füllen des Feuerraumes auf das vom Hersteller empfohlene Fassungs-vermögen nicht eingeschränkt ist.ANMERKUNGEine Sekundärluft-Einstelleinrichtung sollte vorgesehen werden, um Kondensatbildung und dieAnsammlung brennbarer Gase zu vermeiden.4.9 Innere HeizgasumlenkungEine innere Heizgasumlenkung muss jede Stellung, in die sie eingestellt werden soll, beibehaltenkönnen und darf den Feuerraum nicht von Abgasstutzen trennen. Soll eine Umlenkung abnehmbarsein, ist sie so auszulegen oder zu kennzeichnen, dass eine korrekte Montage sichergestellt ist.Jede Umlenkung ist dauerhaft und lesbar zu kennzeichnen, um die Position der Einstellung für denBetreiber anzuzeigen.SIST EN 13229:2003



Seite 14EN 13229:20014.10 Feuerraumboden-RostWenn der Feuerraumboden-Rost ausgewechselt werden kann, muss er so ausgelegt oder markiertsein, dass eine richtige Montage sichergestellt ist. Wenn eine Entaschungsvorrichtung vorhanden ist,muss diese wirkungsvoll die Asche aus dem Brennstoffbett entfernen.ANMERKUNGVorzugsweise sollte die Entaschung bei geschlossener Aschetür möglich sein. DerEntaschungsvorgang sollte ohne unnötigen Kraftaufwand erfolgen. Falls die Aschetür für denEntaschungsvorgang geöffnet werden muss, sollte die Feuerstätte so ausgelegt sein, dass dabei möglichst wenigAsche oder Brennstoff aus der Feuerstätte gelangt.4.11 Stehrost und/oder StehplatteVerfügt die Feuerstätte über einen/eine herausnehmbaren/herausnehmbare Stehrost/Stehplatte, istdieser/diese so auszulegen, dass er/sie weder falsch eingesetzt werden noch sich versehentlich ausder Befestigung lösen kann.ANMERKUNGDer Stehrost bzw. die Stehplatte sollte so ausgelegt sein, dass er/sie während des Betriebesder Feuerstätte den Brennstoff (insbesondere während des Nachfüllens des Brennstoffs) oder dieVerbrennungsrückstände während des Entaschens zurückhält.4.12 Aschekasten und das Entfernen der AscheEs muss eine Möglichkeit vorgesehen sein, die Verbrennungsrückstände aus der Feuerstätte zuentfernen. Wenn ein Aschekasten vorhanden ist, muss dessen Fassungsvermögen dieVerbrennungsrückstände von zwei Brennstoffaufgaben aufnehmen, wobei genügend Abstand darübererhalten bleibt, um den freien Zugang von Primärluft durch den Rost oder zum Glutbett nicht zubehindern. popravkov EN 13229:2001/AC:2006 in EN 13229:2001/A2:2004/AC:2007. V primeru spora glede
besedila slovenskega prevoda v tem standardu je odločilen izvirni evropski standard v angleškem
jeziku. Slovensko izdajo standarda je pripravil tehnični odbor SIST/TC OGS Ogrevanje stavb.
Odločitev za konsolidirano izdajo tega standarda je dne 3. avgusta 2012 sprejel SIST/TC OGS
Ogrevanje stavb.

Ta evropski standard je CEN sprejel 7. aprila 2001.

Ta evropski standard je pripravil tehnični odbor CEN/TC 295 Kurilne naprave na trdna goriva,
katerega tajništvo vodi BSI.

Ta evropski standard mora dobiti status nacionalnega standarda z objavo istovetnega besedila ali z
razglasitvijo najpozneje do decembra 2001. Nacionalne standarde, ki so v nasprotju s tem
standardom, je treba umakniti najpozneje do decembra 2002.

Po notranjih predpisih CEN/CENELEC so dolžne ta evropski standard privzeti nacionalne organizacije

Predgovor k dopolnilu A1

To dopolnilo spreminja evropski standard EN 13229:2001; CEN je dopolnilo sprejel 6. decembra 2002.

Ta dopolnilo (EN 13229:2001/A1:2003) je pripravil tehnični odbor CEN/TC 295 Kurilne naprave na
trdna goriva, katerega tajništvo vodi BSI.

Ta dopolnilo k evropskemu standardu EN 13229:2001 mora dobiti status nacionalnega standarda z
objavo istovetnega besedila ali z razglasitvijo najpozneje do septembra 2003. Nacionalne standarde,
ki so v nasprotju s tem standardom, je treba umakniti najpozneje do septembra 2003.

To dopolnilo A2 spreminja evropski standard EN 13229:2001; CEN je dopolnilo sprejel 18. junija 2004.

Ta dokument (EN 13229:2001/A2:2004) je pripravil tehnični odbor CEN/TC 295 Kurilne naprave na
trdna goriva, katerega tajništvo vodi BSI.

Ta dopolnilo k evropskemu standardu EN 13229:2001 mora dobiti status nacionalnega standarda z
objavo istovetnega besedila ali z razglasitvijo najpozneje do februarja 2005. Nacionalne standarde, ki
so v nasprotju s tem standardom, je treba umakniti najpozneje do maja 2006.

1 Področje uporabe

Ta evropski standard določa zahteve za načrtovanje, proizvodnjo, konstrukcijo, varnost in delovanje
(izkoristek in emisije) ter navodila in označevanje skupaj s preskusnimi metodami za preskušanje tipa
kaminskih vložkov, vključno z odprtimi kamini na trdna goriva.

Ta standard se uporablja za naprave, ki se kurijo ročno in so v preglednici 1 navedene pod
kategorijami 1.b, 1.c, 2.b, 2.c, 3.a, 3.b in 3.c. Obzidava naprave je združena s stavbo, razen pri
prostostoječih napravah in kaminskih vložkih, vgrajenih v kuriščno nišo ali kuriščno komoro.

Ta standard obravnava tudi kuriščne vložke za lončene ali ometane peči, ki imajo nazivno toplotno
moč do 15 kW v skladu s kategorijo 1.c v preglednici 1.

Ta standard se ne uporablja za naprave s prisilnim vlekom.

Navedene naprave ogrevajo prostor, v katerem so nameščene. Dodatno pa, kadar so opremljene z
vodno komoro, omogočajo pripravo in uporabo sanitarne tople vode in/ali centralno ogrevanje.
Kurjene so lahko s trdnimi mineralnimi gorivi, šotnimi briketi, naravno pridobljenimi ali industrijsko
pripravljenimi drvmi ali z več gorivi v skladu z navodili proizvajalca naprave.

Odprtih sestavnih delov kamina, kot so kuriščne rešetke s sprednjimi zaščitami, ki jih dobavi
proizvajalec za namestitev na obstoječe temperaturno obstojno izolirano kurišče, ta standard ne
obravnava.

OPOMBA: "Brez funkcionalnih sprememb" pomeni take spremembe zunanjosti naprave, ki spremenijo le prenos toplote, ne
vplivajo pa na gorenje.

2 Zveze s standardi
