Steel for packaging - Flat steel products intended for use in contact with foodstuffs, products or beverages for human and animal consumption - Non alloyed electrolytic chromium/chromium oxide coated steel
This document specifies the base steel to be used and the composition of the metallic coating to be used for the manufacture of lacquered electrolytic chromium/chromium oxide coated steel and articles which, as a finished product, are intended for use in direct contact with foodstuffs or products for human or animal consumption.
The main examples of use are:
- drinks cans,
- food cans,
- closures and ends.
The material should be chosen in accordance with the conditions for its use.
This standard does not apply to categories of steel other than steel for packaging intended for use in contact with foodstuffs, products or beverages for human consumption or animal consumption.
Verpackungsblech - Flacherzeugnisse aus Stahl für die Verwendung in Berührung mit Lebensmitteln, Produkten und Getränken für den menschlichen und tierischen Verzehr - Unlegierter elektrolytisch spezialverchromter Stahl
Diese Europäische Norm legt den Stahl und die Zusammensetzung des metallischen Überzugs fest, der für die Herstellung von elektrolytisch spezialverchromtem Stahl und Gegenständen verwendet wird, welche als fertiges Produkt für die Verwendung in direkter Berührung mit Lebensmitteln oder Produkten für den menschlichen und tierischen Verzehr bestimmt sind.
Hauptbeispiele für die Anwendung sind:
- Getränkedosen;
- Konserven;
- Verschlüsse und Enden.
Die Stahlsorte muss in Übereinstimmung mit ihrer Verwendung ausgesucht werden.
Diese Norm gilt nicht für andere Stahlsorten als solche für Verpackungsblech für die Verwendung in Berührung mit Lebensmitteln, Produkten oder Getränken für den menschlichen und tierischen Verzehr.

La présente norme spécifie l'acier a utiliser et la composition du revetement métallique servant a la fabrication de fer chromé verni et d'objets qui a l'état de produit fini sont destinés a entrer en contact direct avec des denrées, et produits pour l'alimentation de l'homme et des animaux.
Les principaux exemples d'application sont les suivants :
- boîtes boissons,
- boîtes pour conserves alimentaires,
- capsules et couvercles.
Le choix du matériau doit etre en adéquation avec les conditions d'emploi.
La présente norme ne s'applique pas aux aciers hors emballages destinés a entrer en contact avec des denrées, produits et boissons pour l'alimentation de l'homme et des animaux.
NOTE L'aptitude au contact alimentaire d'un matériau ou d'un produit ne dispense pas de l'application des pratiques habituelles d'hygiene garantes de la qualité sanitaire et organoleptique des aliments au cours de leur préparation, de leur stockage ou de leur emballage
