EN ISO 15609-1:2019 - Specification and qualification of welding procedures for metallic materials - Welding procedure specification (WPS) - Part 1: Arc welding (ISO 15609-1:2019) - defines the required content of welding procedure specifications for arc welding processes. It lists the variables that influence welded-joint quality and provides a harmonized structure for preparing a preliminary WPS (pWPS) or WPS for metallic materials. The standard is part of the ISO 15609 series; general rules are given in ISO 15607.

This document (EN ISO 15609-1:2019) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 44 "Welding
and allied processes" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 121 “Welding and allied
processes” the secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by April 2020, and conflicting national standards shall be
withdrawn at the latest by April 2020.

Dieses Dokument (EN ISO 15609-1:2019) wurde vom Technischen Komitee ISO/TC 44 „Welding and allied
processes“ in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Technischen Komitee CEN/TC 121 „Schweißen und verwandte
Verfahren“ erarbeitet, dessen Sekretariat von DIN gehalten wird.
Diese Europäische Norm muss den Status einer nationalen Norm erhalten, entweder durch Veröffentlichung
eines identischen Textes oder durch Anerkennung bis April 2020, und etwaige entgegenstehende nationale
Normen müssen bis April 2020 zurückgezogen werden.
Es wird auf die Möglichkeit hingewiesen, dass einige Elemente dieses Dokuments Patentrechte berühren

Vorwort
ISO (die Internationale Organisation für Normung) ist eine weltweite Vereinigung nationaler Normungs-
