This part of ISO/TS 7849 gives basic requirements for reproducible methods for the determination of an upper limit for the A-weighted sound power level of the noise emitted by machinery or equipment by using surface vibration measurements. The method is only applicable to noise which is emitted by vibrating surfaces of solid structures and not to noise generated aerodynamically.
This vibration measurement method is especially applicable in cases where accurate direct airborne noise measurements, e.g. as specified in ISO 3746[7], ISO 3747[8], and ISO 9614 (all parts)[12], are not possible because of high background noise or other parasitic environmental interferences; or if a distinction is required between the total radiated sound power and its structure vibration generated component.
NOTE 1 One of the applications of this part of ISO/TS 7849 is the distinction between the radiation of airborne sound power generated by structure vibration and the aerodynamic sound power components. Such a distinction is not feasible with ISO 3746[7] and ISO 9614 (all parts)[12].
NOTE 2 Problems can occur if the noise is generated by small parts of machinery surfaces (sliding contacts, e.g. slip ring brush or the commutator and the brush in electrical machines).
The methods described in this part of ISO/TS 7849 apply mainly to processes that are stationary with respect to time.

Dieser Teil von ISO/TS 7849 enthält grundlegende Anforderungen an reproduzierbare Verfahren zur Bestimmung eines oberen Grenzwerts für den A bewerteten Schallleistungspegel der von Maschinen oder Geräten abgestrahlten Geräusche durch Messung von Oberflächenschwingungen. Das Verfahren ist nur auf Geräusche anwendbar, die von schwingenden Oberflächen fester Körper abgestrahlt werden, nicht aber auf aerodynamisch erzeugte Geräusche.
Dieses Schwingungsmessverfahren ist insbesondere dann anwendbar, wenn genaue direkte Luftschallmessungen, wie in ISO 3746 [7], ISO 3747 [8] und ISO 9614 (alle Teile) [12] festgelegt, aufgrund starker Fremdgeräusche oder anderer störender Umwelteinflüsse nicht möglich sind oder wenn eine Unterscheidung zwischen der gesamten abgestrahlten Schallleistung und ihrer durch Körperschall erzeugten Komponente erforderlich ist.
ANMERKUNG 1 Eine der Anwendungen dieses Teils von ISO/TS 7849 ist die Unterscheidung zwischen der Abstrahlung von Luftschallleistung, die durch Körperschall erzeugt wird, und den aerodynamischen Schallleistungskomponenten. Eine solche Unterscheidung ist mit ISO 3746 [7] und ISO 9614 (alle Teile) [12] nicht möglich.
ANMERKUNG 2 Probleme können auftreten, wenn das Geräusch von kleinen Teilen der Maschinenoberflächen (Schleifkontakte, z. B. Schleifringbürste oder der Kommutator und die Bürste in elektrischen Maschinen) erzeugt wird.
Die in diesem Teil von ISO/TS 7849 beschriebenen Verfahren gelten hauptsächlich für Prozesse, die zeitlich stationär sind.

Ta del standarda ISO/TS 7849 podaja osnovne zahteve za ponovljive metode za določanje zgornje meje za A-vrednoteno raven zvočne moči hrupa, ki ga oddajajo stroji ali oprema, z uporabo merjenja vibracij na površinah. Metoda se uporablja samo za hrup, ki ga oddajajo vibrirajoče površine trdnih struktur, in ne za aerodinamično ustvarjeni hrup.
Ta metoda merjenja vibracij se uporablja zlasti v primerih, ko točnih meritev hrupa, ki se prenaša neposredno po zraku, npr. kot je določeno v standardih ISO 3746[7], ISO 3747[8] in ISO 9614 (vsi deli)[12], ni mogoče izvesti zaradi močnega šuma v ozadju ali drugih parazitskih motenj v okolju, ali kadar je treba razlikovati med skupno izsevano zvočno močjo in njeno komponento, ki ustvarja strukturne vibracije.

This Technical Specification (CEN/TS) was approved by CEN on 7 February 2022 for provisional application.
The period of validity of this CEN/TS is limited initially to three years. After two years the members of CEN will be requested to
submit their comments, particularly on the question whether the CEN/TS can be converted into a European Standard.
CEN members are required to announce the existence of this CEN/TS in the same way as for an EN and to make the CEN/TS
available promptly at national level in an appropriate form. It is permissible to keep conflicting national standards in force (in
parallel to the CEN/TS) until the final decision about the possible conversion of the CEN/TS into an EN is reached.

the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over as CEN ISO/TS 7849-
1:2022 by Technical Committee CEN/TC 211 “Acoustics” the secretariat of which is held by DIN.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
