Geometrical product specifications (GPS) - Dimensional tolerancing - Part 1: Linear sizes (ISO 14405-1:2016)

ISO 14405-1:2016 establishes the default specification operator (see ISO 17450‑2) for linear size and defines a number of special specification operators for linear size for features of size, e.g. "cylinder", "sphere", "torus,"[1], "circle", "two parallel opposite planes", or "two parallel opposite straight lines".
It also defines the specification modifiers and the drawing indications for these linear sizes.
It covers the following linear sizes:
a)    local size:
-      two-point size;
-      spherical size;
-      section size;
-      portion size;
b)    global size:
-      direct global linear size:
-      least-squares size;
-      maximum inscribed size;
-      minimum circumscribed size;
-      minimax size;
-      indirect global linear size;
c)    calculated size:
-      circumference diameter;
-      area diameter;
-      volume diameter;
d)    rank-order size:
-      maximum size;
-      minimum size;
-      average size;
-      median size;
-      mid-range size;
-      range of sizes;
-      standard deviation of sizes.
ISO 14405-1:2016 defines tolerances of linear sizes for the following:
-      a + and/or − limit deviation (e.g. 0/−0,019);
-      an upper limit of size (ULS) and/or lower limit of size (LLS) (e.g. 15,2 max., 12 min., or 30,2/30,181);
-      an ISO tolerance class code in accordance with ISO 286‑1 (e.g. 10 h6);
with or without modifiers.
ISO 14405-1:2016 provides a set of tools to express several types of size characteristic. It does not present any information on the relationship between a function or a use and a size characteristic.
[1]         A torus is a feature of size when its directrix diameter is fixed.

L'ISO 14405-1 :2016 établit l'opérateur de spécification par défaut (voir l'ISO 17450‑2) pour la taille linéaire et définit un ensemble d'opérateurs de spécification spéciaux pour la taille linéaire des entités dimensionnelles de type «cylindre», «sphère», «tore»[1], «cercle», «deux plans parallèles opposés» ou «deux droites parallèles opposées».
Elle définit également les modificateurs de spécification et les indications relatives aux tailles linéaires à faire figurer sur les dessins.
Elle couvre les tailles linéaires suivantes:
a)    taille locale:
-      taille entre deux points;
-      taille sphérique;
-      taille dans une section;
-      taille sur une portion;
b)    taille globale:
-      taille linéaire globale directe;
-      taille des moindres carrés;
-      taille maximale inscrite;
-      taille minimale circonscrite;
-      taille du minimax;
-      taille linéaire globale indirecte;
c)    taille calculée:
-      diamètre circonférentiel;
-      diamètre d'aire (circulaire)[2];
-      diamètre d'un volume (de tronc de cylindre)[3];
d)    taille par ordre de rang:
-      taille maximale;
-      taille minimale;
-      taille moyenne;
-      taille médiane;
-      centre de la plage d'étendue;
-      étendue de tailles;
-      écart-type des tailles.
L'ISO 14405-1 :2016 définit les tolérances sur les tailles linéaires pour:
-      un écart limite positif et/ou négatif (par exemple 0/−0,019);
-      une limite supérieure de taille (ULS) et/ou une limite inférieure de taille (LLS) (par exemple 15,2 max., 12 min. ou 30,2/30,181);
-      un code ISO de classe de tolérance selon l'ISO 286‑1 (par exemple 10 h6);
avec ou sans modificateurs.
L'ISO 14405-1 :2016 fournit un ensemble d'outils pour exprimer plusieurs types de caractéristiques dimensionnelles. Elle ne donne aucune information sur la relation entre une fonction ou une utilisation et une caractéristique dimensionnelle.

Ta del standarda ISO 14405 določa privzet operator specifikacij (glej ISO 17450-2) za linearno velikost in določa številne posebne operatorje specifikacij za linearno velikost lastnosti velikosti, npr. »valja«, »krogle«, »torusa«1), »kroga«, »dveh vzporednih nasprotnih ravni« ali »dveh vzporednih nasprotnih ravnih črt«.
Določa tudi specifikacijske modifikatorje in risane oznake za te linearne velikosti.
Ta del standarda ISO 14405 opredeljuje naslednje linearne velikosti:
a) lokalna velikost:
— dvotočkovna velikost;
— sferična velikost;
— sekcijska velikost;
— porcijska velikost;
b) globalna velikost:
— neposredna globalna linearna velikost;
— velikost najmanjših kvadratkov;
— največja vrisana velikost;
— najmanjša obrisana velikost;
— največja najmanjša velikost;
— posredna globalna linearna velikost;
c) izračunana velikost:
— obodni premer;
— premer območja;
— premer prostornine;
1) Torus je lastnost velikosti, kadar je njegov premer fiksen.
d) velikost po vrstnem redu:
— največja velikost;
— najmanjša velikost;
— povprečna velikost;
— srednja velikost;
— velikost srednjega obsega;
— obseg velikosti;
— standardni odklon velikosti.
Ta del standarda ISO 14405 določa toleranco naslednjih linearnih velikosti:
— + in/ali − mejno odstopanje (npr. 0/−0,019) (glej sliko 11);
— zgornja omejitev velikosti (ULS) in/ali spodnja omejitev velikosti (LLS) (npr. 15,2 največ, 12 najmanj, ali 30,2/30,181) (glej sliko 13);
— tolerančna šifra razreda ISO v skladu s standardom ISO 286 1 (npr. 10 h6) (glej sliko 12);
z ali brez modifikatorjev (glej preglednici 1 in 2).
Ta del standarda ISO 14405 podaja načine izražanja številnih tipov lastnosti velikosti. Ne podaja nobenih informacij glede razmerja med funkcijo ali uporabo in lastnostjo velikosti.

This document (EN ISO 14405-1:2016) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 213
“Dimensional and geometrical product specifications and verification” in collaboration with Technical
Committee CEN/TC 290 “Dimensional and geometrical product specification and verification” the
secretariat of which is held by AFNOR.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by February 2017, and conflicting national standards
shall be withdrawn at the latest by February 2017.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN [and/or CENELEC] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent
rights.
This document supersedes EN ISO 14405-1:2010.
