Copper and copper alloys - Determination of tin content - Part 4: Medium tin content - Flame atomic absorption spectrometry method (FAAS)

This Technical Specification specifies a flame atomic absorption spectrometric method (FAAS) for the determination of the tin content of copper and copper alloys in the form of unwrought, wrought and cast products.
The method is applicable to products having medium tin mass fractions between 0,2 % and 3 %.

Diese Europäische Technische Spezifikation legt ein flammenatomabsorptionsspektrometrisches Verfahren (FAAS) für die Bestimmung des Zinngehaltes in Kupfer und Kupferlegierungen fest, die als Gussstücke oder als plastisch oder nicht plastisch geformte Produkte vorliegen.
Das Verfahren ist geeignet für Produkte mit Zinn-Massenanteilen zwischen 0,2 % und 2,5 %.

La présente Spécification Technique présente une méthode par spectrométrie d’absorption atomique dans la flamme (SAAF) pour le dosage de l’étain dans le cuivre et les alliages de cuivre, sous forme de produits non corroyés, corroyés et moulés.
Cette méthode est applicable aux produits ayant de moyennes teneurs (fractions massiques) en étain comprises entre 0,2 % et 3 %.

This Technical Specification (CEN/TS) was approved by CEN on 12 September 2006 for provisional application.
The period of validity of this CEN/TS is limited initially to three years. After two years the members of CEN will be requested to submit their
comments, particularly on the question whether the CEN/TS can be converted into a European Standard.
CEN members are required to announce the existence of this CEN/TS in the same way as for an EN and to make the CEN/TS available
promptly at national level in an appropriate form. It is permissible to keep conflicting national standards in force (in parallel to the CEN/TS)
until the final decision about the possible conversion of the CEN/TS into an EN is reached.
