Earth-moving machinery - Seat belts and seat belt anchorages - Performance requirements and tests (ISO 6683:2005)

ISO 6683:2005 establishes the minimum performance requirements for restraint systems -- seat belts and their fastening elements (anchorages) -- on earth-moving machinery and specially designed forestry machines, necessary to restrain an operator or rider within a roll-over protective structure (ROPS) in the event of a machine roll-over (see ISO 3471), or within a tip-over protection structure (TOPS) in the event of a machine tip-over (see ISO 12117).

Diese internationale Norm legt die Mindestanforderungen für Rückhaltesysteme (Sitzgurte und Befestigungselemente von Sitzgurten) fest, die erforderlich sind, um einen Maschinenführer von Erdbau-maschinen im Falle eines Überrollens, wie in ISO 3471 definiert, in einem Überrollschutzaufbau (ROPS) oder im Falle eines seitlichen Umkippens, wie in ISO 12117 definiert, in einer Umsturzschutzvorrichtung (TOPS) zurückzuhalten. Diese Internationale Norm gilt für Maschinen, die mit ROPS, wie in ISO 3471 festgelegt, bzw. die mit TOPS, wie in ISO 12117 festgelegt, ausgestattet sind.

L'ISO 6683:2005 établit les exigences minimales de performance s'appliquant aux dispositifs de retenue -ceintures de sécurité et leurs fixations (ancrages)- sur les engins de terrassement et les machines forestières spécialement conçues, nécessaires pour maintenir un opérateur ou un conducteur dans une structure de protection au retournement (ROPS), en cas de retournement de l'engin (voir l'ISO 3471) ou dans une structure de protection au basculement (TOPS), en cas de basculement de l'engin (voir l'ISO 12117).

Foreword
The text of ISO 6683:2005 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 127 “Earth-moving machinery”
of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over as EN ISO 6683:2008 by
Technical Committee CEN/TC 151 “Construction equipment and building material machines - Safety” the
secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by February 2009, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn
at the latest by December 2009.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent
rights. CEN [and/or CENELEC] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN ISO 6683:2005.
