ISO 1873-2:2007 specifies the methods of preparation of test specimens and the test methods to be used in determining the properties of PP moulding and extrusion materials. Requirements for handling test material and for conditioning both the test material before moulding and the specimens before testing are given.
Procedures and conditions for the preparation of test specimens and procedures for measuring properties of the materials from which these specimens are made are given. Properties and test methods which are suitable and necessary to characterize PP moulding and extrusion materials are listed.

Kunststoffe - Polypropylen (PP)-Formmassen - Teil 2: Herstellung von Probekörpern und Bestimmung von Eigenschaften (ISO 1873-2:2007)

Dieser Teil von ISO 1873 legt die Bedingungen zur Herstellung von Probekörpern und die zur Bestimmung der Eigenschaften von PP-Formmassen anzuwendenden Prüfverfahren fest. Anforderungen an die Hand¬habung des Probenmaterials und für das Konditionieren des Probenmaterials vor der Formgebung und der Probekörper vor der Prüfung sind ebenfalls enthalten.
Verfahren und Bedingungen für die Herstellung von Probekörpern und Vorschriften für die Bestimmung der Ei¬genschaften der Formmasse, aus der die Probekörper hergestellt werden, sind angegeben. Eigenschaften und Prüfverfahren, die geeignet und notwendig sind, um PP-Formmassen zu charakterisieren, sind aufge¬listet.
Die Eigenschaften wurden aus den in ISO 10350 1 angegebenen allgemeinen Prüfverfahren ausgewählt. Andere weithin gebräuchliche Prüfverfahren oder solche von besonderer Bedeutung für diese Formmassen, wie die kennzeichnenden Eigenschaften aus Teil 1 dieser Norm, sind in diesen Teil von ISO 1873 aufge¬nommen.
Um reproduzierbare und vergleichbare Prüfergebnisse zu erhalten, müssen die hier festgelegten Verfahren zur Probekörperherstellung und -konditionierung, Probekörpermaße sowie Prüfverfahren angewendet werden. Die gemessenen Werte müssen nicht notwendigerweise mit denen identisch sein, die bei Anwendung von Probekörpern mit anderen Maßen oder solchen, die mit einem anderen Verfahren hergestellt wurden, erhalten werden.

L'ISO 1873-2:2007 spécifie les méthodes de préparation des éprouvettes et les méthodes d'essai à appliquer pour déterminer les propriétés des polypropylènes (PP) pour moulage et extrusion. Elle indique les exigences requises lors de la manipulation du matériau pour essai, ainsi que lors de conditionnement dudit matériau avant moulage et des éprouvettes avant l'essai.
Elle précise les modes opératoires et les conditions nécessaires à la préparation des éprouvettes, ainsi que les modes opératoires de mesurage des propriétés des matériaux à partir desquels ces éprouvettes sont fabriquées. Elle fournit également une liste des propriétés et des méthodes d'essai appropriées et nécessaires à la caractérisation des polypropylènes pour moulage et extrusion.

This document (EN ISO 1873-2:2007) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 61 "Plastics" in
collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 249 "Plastics", the secretariat of which is held by NBN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by March 2008, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at
the latest by March 2008.
This document supersedes EN ISO 1873-2:1997.
