Safety of woodworking machines - Tenoning machines - Part 4: Edge banding machines fed by chain(s)

This document deals with all the significant hazards, hazardous situations and events as listed in Clause 4 which are relevant to edge banding machines fed by chain(s) where the loading and unloading is manual and where the maximum work-piece height capacity is 75 mm. The machine is designed to process in one pass, one end (single end machine) or both ends (double end machine) of solid wood, chipboard, fibreboard or plywood and also these materials where they are covered with plastic laminate or edgings. The work-piece is fed through the processing units by an integrated feed. For the purpose of this document an edge banding machine fed by chain(s) is hereinafter referred to as the machine.
This document does not apply to single and double end edge banding machines fed by chain or chains with a complete enclosure as defined in 3.3.10.
This document does not deal with any hazards relating to:
a)   mechanical loading of the work-piece to a single machine; or
b)   single machine being used in combination with any other machine (as part of a line); or
c)   use of tools working between the machine halves (see 3.3.1); or
d)   use of laser.
For Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machines this document does not cover hazards related to Electro-Magnetic Compatibility (EMC).
NOTE   The requirements of this document apply to all machines whatever their method of control e.g. electromechanical and/or electronic.
This document is primarily directed to machines which are manufactured after the date of publication by CEN.

#Dieses Dokument behandelt die in Abschnitt 4 aufgeführten signifikanten Gefährdungen, Gefährdungssituationen
und Gefährdungsereignisse, die auf Kantenanleimmaschinen mit Kettenbandvorschub, mit
Handbeschickung und Handabnahme und einer maximalen Werkstückhöhe von 75 mm zutreffen. Die
Maschine ist dazu bestimmt, in einem Durchlauf ein Ende (einseitige Maschine) oder beide Enden (doppelseitige
Maschine) von Massivholz, Spanplatten, Faserplatten oder Sperrholz zu bearbeiten, sowie diese
Werkstoffe, wenn sie kunststoffbeschichtet oder mit Kunststoffkanten versehen sind. Das Werkstück wird
mittels mechanischem Vorschub an den Bearbeitungsstationen vorbei bewegt. Im Zusammenhang mit diesem
Dokument wird eine Kantenanleimmaschine mit Kettenbandvorschub als „Maschine“ bezeichnet.$

Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für einseitige und doppelseitige Kantenanleimmaschinen mit Kettenbandvorschub
mit einer kompletten, wie in 3.3.10 definierten Kapselung.
Dieses Dokument behandelt nicht irgendwelche Gefährdungen, die entstehen:
a) im Zusammenhang mit der mechanischen Beschickung der Werkstücke bei einer einzelnen Maschine;
oder
b) durch die Kombination einer einzelnen Maschine mit irgendeiner anderen Maschine (als Teil einer Linie);
oder
c) bei der Verwendung von Werkzeugen zwischen den Maschinenhälften (siehe 3.3.1); oder
d) bei der Verwendung von Lasern.
Dieses Dokument behandelt bei CNC-Maschinen nicht die Gefährdungen im Zusammenhang mit der elektromagnetischen
Verträglichkeit (EMV).
ANMERKUNG Die Anforderungen in dieser Europäischen Norm gelten für alle Maschinen, unabhängig von der Art
ihrer Steuerung, z. B. elektromechanisch und/oder elektronisch.
Dieses Dokument gilt in erster Linie für Maschinen, die hergestellt wurden, nachdem CEN diese Europäische
Norm veröffentlichte.

#Le présent document traite de tous les phénomènes dangereux, situations dangereuses et événements
dangereux significatifs, dont une liste est donnée à l'Article 4, applicables aux machines à plaquer sur chants
à chaîne(s), dont le chargement et le déchargement s'effectuent manuellement et qui traitent des pièces d'une
hauteur maximale de 75 mm. La machine est conçue pour plaquer en une seule passe, un chant (machine simple)
ou les deux chants (machine double) du bois massif et/ou des matériaux comparables, à savoir panneaux de
particules et de fibres ou contreplaqué, ainsi que ces matériaux lorsqu'ils sont recouverts de matière plastique
stratifiée. La pièce est amenée aux outils par un dispositif d'avance mécanisée. Pour les besoins du présent
document, une machine à plaquer sur chants à chaîne(s) est désignée ci-après par le terme «machine».$

Le présent document ne s’applique pas aux machines simples et doubles à plaquer sur chant alimentées par
chaîne(s) à enceinte complète telles que définies en 3.3.10.
Le présent document ne traite pas des phénomènes dangereux liés :
a) au chargement mécanique des pièces sur une machine ; ou
b) à une machine utilisée en combinaison avec toute autre machine (partie d’une ligne) ; ou
c) à l’utilisation d’outils travaillant entre les demi-machines (voir 3.3.1) ; ou
d) à l’utilisation de laser.
Pour les machines à commande numérique (CN), le présent document ne traite pas les phénomènes dangereux liés
à la comptabilité électromagnétique (CEM).
NOTE Les exigences du présent document s’applique à toutes les machines quelque soit leur mode de commande par
exemple électromécanique et/ ou électronique.
Le présent document est applicable avant tout aux machines fabriquées après la date de publication par le CEN.
