Plastics piping systems for hot and cold water installations - Chlorinated poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-C) - Part 7: Guidance for the assessment of conformity (ISO/TS 15877-7:2009)
ISO 15877-7:2009 gives guidance for the assessment of conformity included in the manufacturer's quality plan as part of his/her quality system.
ISO 15877-7:2009 includes:
- provisions for materials, components, joints and assemblies given in the applicable part(s) of ISO 15877;
- provisions for the manufacturer's quality system, which can conform to ISO 9001;
- definitions and procedures applied if certification is involved; in which case, the certification body can be accredited to ISO/IEC Guide 65 or ISO/IEC Guide 62, as applicable.
In conjunction with the other parts of ISO 15877, ISO 15877-7:2009 is applicable to chlorinated poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-C) piping systems intended to be used for hot and cold water installations within buildings for the conveyance of water, whether or not intended for human consumption (domestic systems), under design pressures and temperatures appropriate to the class of application (see Table 1 of ISO 15877-1:2009).
betreffenden Teil der ISO 15877 festgelegt sind;
b) Festlegungen für das Qualitätssicherungssystem des Herstellers, das ISO 9001 [2] entsprechen kann;
L'ISO 15877-7:2009 comporte ceci:
– les exigences relatives aux matières, aux composants, aux assemblages et aux montages, énoncées dans la ou les parties applicables de l'ISO 15877;
– les exigences relatives au système qualité du fabricant, qui peut être conforme à l'ISO 9001;

Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies
(ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO
technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been
established has the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental and
non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. ISO collaborates closely with the
International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization.
International Standards are drafted in accordance with the rules given in the ISO/IEC Directives, Part 2.
The main task of technical committees is to prepare International Standards. Draft International Standards
adopted by the technical committees are circulated to the member bodies for voting. Publication as an
International Standard requires approval by at least 75 % of the member bodies casting a vote.
In other circumstances, particularly when there is an urgent market requirement for such documents, a
technical committee may decide to publish other types of document:
— an ISO Publicly Available Specification (ISO/PAS) represents an agreement between technical experts in
an ISO working group and is accepted for publication if it is approved by more than 50 % of the members
of the parent committee casting a vote;
— an ISO Technical Specification (ISO/TS) represents an agreement between the members of a technical
committee and is accepted for publication if it is approved by 2/3 of the members of the committee casting
a vote.
An ISO/PAS or ISO/TS is reviewed after three years in order to decide whether it will be confirmed for a
further three years, revised to become an International Standard, or withdrawn. If the ISO/PAS or ISO/TS is
confirmed, it is reviewed again after a further three years, at which time it must either be transformed into an
International Standard or be withdrawn.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent
rights. ISO shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
ISO/TS 15877-7 was prepared by European Committee for Standardization (CEN) Technical Committee
CEN/TC 155, Plastics piping systems and ducting systems, in collaboration with ISO Technical Committee
ISO/TC 138, Plastics pipes, fittings and valves for the transport of fluids, Subcommittee SC 2, Plastics pipes
and fittings for water supplies, in accordance with the Agreement on technical cooperation between ISO and
CEN (Vienna Agreement).
This Technical Specification is part of a System Standard for plastics piping systems of a particular material
for a specified application. There are a number of such System Standards.
The System Standards are consistent with general standards on functional requirements and on
recommended practice for installation.
They are supported by separate standards on test methods to which references are made throughout the
System Standard.
This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition (ISO/TS 15877-7:2003), which has been technically
revised.
